was top 6 ever in doubt? 🤔

That's my issue here. Where we were on boxing day it should have NEVER been in doubt or been an issue. We've been so rotten this year it's beyond a joke.

I'd love Alexander to go. Won't happen though.

So in the race for Europe looking at previous results.

Ross County - won 1 and lost two but all 3 were tight games. Due to play them away.

Dundee United - won 1 lost two. I feel we have a better team than them. Due to play them at home.

Hearts - won 1 and lost two. Due to play them at home and they have nothing to play for.

We’ll get nothing off the uglies so I’ll not bother. We’re due Rangers at home and Celtic away.

I don’t know if we’ve played more games at home or away overall?

He's getting £700 a week more than he's on, I'm sure he'll grin and bear it

Also rumour mill, friend of a friend etc, but I'd heard he has a get out if Dundee get relegated.

Coukd have or no doubt a reduction on his wage from the Club if relegated I'd guess

Bizarre end to a bizarre season so far. Don't really know what to make of it. Sixth and a point of fourth is excellent, on the other hand...well, we've all seen us. Remarkably we could be preparing for both European and relegation battles next season.

I doubt we will be mind, you'd back County for fourth and while there's little between us and United, them starting 1.5 points ahead with GD should see them fifth.

Turns out we’ve played more at home, so we should be due 2 home games and 3 away. I’ve got a feeling we’ll end up at Tannadice for a third time as they are due 3 home games.

My guess would be -
Hearts and Rangers at home.

County, Utd and Celtic away.

We’ve won twice away all season.

Agree with this. Questions should definitely be being asked but tbf I'd rather ask the questions about what the actual f**k has happened since the turn of the year from Top 6 removed from the relegation shitshow than be running the risk of finishing 10th by mistake.

Also, a Top 6 finish looks better on Alexander's CV if any lower league jobbers in England are looking at a new manager.

As much of a weirdo as Alexander seems, he's instilled some fucking character in this squad.

I still have no idea what's gone on for the last 3 months but hopefully we can draw a line under it and look forward to a very achievable European spot.

Also agree with this.

We've come from a goal down and two down at Ibrox in two separate fixtures. An injury time goal to equalise at St Mirren and then coming from 2 down today in a game where the result actually fucking mattered.

Considering when Alexander took over last year we literally hadn't managed to equalise in a game the fact that we've turned into a side that actually has a bit of dig counts for something IMO. I mean, we've come from behind to take something in 8 of our last 16 games in all comps and an injury time equaliser in a "must not lose" game is so unMotherwell it's untrue.

That was fairly exciting I suppose, we definitely can’t go down, and nice to be in the end of some good fortune.

But….1 win in 13 is 1 win in 13 whatever way you splice it and if we’d just been shite since Christmas as opposed to absolutely rid rotten howling eye bleedingly bad we’d have been home and hosed comfortably weeks ago.

Will we win another game this season? 1 win in 18 is easily on the cards. I mean, even if we win even 1 game, forgive me if I can’t help but think there’s nothing really to be content or excited about.

Should a manager be keeping his job with that record and the actual football we’ve suffered just because we somehow scraped into the top half of the table?

Still sticking with the transition year theory.  Alexander must have learned stuff over the last 3 months about his squad and about himself and perhaps about Scottish football. This season’s league position is better than last season, technically we have improved.

Next season should see a smoother start with a more settled squad. It could all come good.

Tommy McLean had some poor teams and poor seasons but was given time and eventually he got it right and we won a cup.  We can dream.
