Play them off against the club you're currently at to get yourself more money. It's painfully obvious to everyone what's gone on. Hibs fans' anger at this situation is, at best, understandable. For their manager to publicly throw his toys out the pram (when this sort of situation must go on all the time) is laughable. Not really what happened though. He went back on an agreement with us and asked for more money. It was only when we rejected that that he scuttled off back to Motherwell. He approached a club who can afford to pay wages higher than most other clubs that would still be within McDonald's caché, to play that club against his employers. He probably approached a few clubs to see who would bite. He went back on an agreement with us and asked for more money. You use "agreement" liberally there. Football is a cynical industry. Seems to have been a bit of utility man before last season, then Adams deployed him as a holding midfielder where he apparently excelled for Plymouth last year.
