Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Count me in the camp of people who like that new home kit. Something a little different and it’s almost as good as last years in my opinion. At least it’s the right blue.

Agree about it preferring white over gold. Something about royal blue and gold doesn’t work for me. Like you say though, at least it’s not light blue shoulder panels.

Taylor Steven contract announced next pls, alongside a photo of him in an outstanding away top.

Club actually being proactive this Summer feels great and should bring rewards.

A textbook Levein signing.

I thought Ikpeazu was absolutely shite. A carthorse. Five goals in 40 league games as well. A pitiful return.

Given he'll be a known quantity this time, I doubt he'll get six months' grace to bully defenders. Which will render him completely ineffective.

Get neck massage sessions booked in, lads. The ball isn't going to be seeing the grass very much.

It's patently nonsense to say he was absolutely shite. He was effective and he has done well at a level not much worse after leaving us.

That doesn't mean it's not Levein living in his comfort zone, but he'll do ok.

Is he one of those weird players who looks worse the less you see of them? And when you see them every week you pick up on the little things that show why they play all the time?

Genuine question - what level is that? Because he was absolutely honking for Port Vale last season, and every Vale fan would have driven him to Perth to get shot of him.

At Hearts, he was one of those players who was pretty poor 90% of the time, but then would do something unexpectedly great and you'd be thinking 'oh wait, maybe he's coming onto a game'.

And then he'd be shit again - throwing himself over screaming for a non-existent foul in spite of being about three stone of muscle bigger than the bloke marking him because he simply isn't a good enough footballer to take a ball in - and you'd remember that no, he's just not very good and that 90% of his game is based on being a big old unit.

Which is obviously an attribute in itself, so maybe he'll work out at Saints just by letting the ball bounce of his massive frame to Sidibeh - but I never saw that happening all that often at Hearts.

The more opposing fans tell us hes shite the more I'm convinced itll work out.

That used to be saints calling card. Take players on a downward trend and get the last bit of quality out of them or get them back on track.

AIK fans were over the moon to get rid of Kimpioka. Same for MK Dons and Matt Smith. It’s the market we are shopping in and just have to hope more work than don’t.

Wycombe in the Championship.  Which got him a move for  a decent fee to Middlesbrough.  Then done relatively well on loan at Cardiff.
