On the face of it it maybe appears a bit of a shitty way to act, but you could argue he’s protecting himself and his career. What if he’d extended his contract until the end of the season and a horror tackle in the final game shattered his leg scuppering any potential moves and left him with no income?

Insurance would cover that risk.

That's why players like Willian, Pedro and others extended their contracts in the same circumstances.

Willian and Pedro are millionaires who'll be earning over £100k regardless.

Taylor is apparently on under £5k a week and has offers over ten times that on the table.

Who is going to pay Taylor £50k a week (£2.5 million a year)? Sevco could not afford that wage.

An insurance pay out would likely only see him through for so long though. Wouldn’t imagine it’d be worth as much as a new 3 year deal or the like elsewhere. A bad injury and a long spell out injured might see his next move be far less lucrative or worse still, end his career and massively impact his potential earnings from football, possibly leaving him on the football scrap heap as just another bloke who’s needing to find a job.

Why should he risk his final chance of life changing money for a couple of games in a shite side?
He refused to play games when he was still under contract, arsehole behaviour.

Galatasaray reportedly offered him a basic wage of £40k a week.

He refused to play in 3 games before his contract expired.

They picked up 7pts in this time.

Doesn't make him any less of an arsehole for refusing to honour his contract though[emoji2373]

Is Lyle Taylor that gimp who outed himself as a Tory on Twitter?

Yes. I find it incredibly difficult to believe Galatasaraay offered him £40k a week. If they did its absolutely mind boggling.

If Rangers swap Roofe for Morelos and still get change to play with, that's very decent business.

Didn’t know he’d done that. That is arsehole behaviour.

I mean £13m plus a sizeable sell on (20%)  and maybe add ons if he scores 15 Ligue 1 goals, plays 5 games for Colombia etc. is a good deal for Rangers tbh.

You on the football manager?

Not saying Taylor would be getting that at Ibrox, but he is good friends with Joe Aribo.

I think Taylor has ruined any chance of a move by refusing to play for Charlton. I doubt Gerrard would have been too impressed with that, even if it was to ensure he was fully fit for a potential move to Rangers.
