I think most of us would prefer that to slogging it out in the League Cup groups. The "race for Europe" might as well be called the "scramble to avoid the league cup group stages"

Similar negative vibes, so you might be on to something.

Richey Edwards
No self-respecting BRITISH club would want to play in a European competition anyway. -

Killie 1 win 3 draws 2 losses St Mirren 1 win 2 draws 1 loss Hearts 2 losses Rangers 1 draw 1 loss So 2 wins 6 draws and 6 losses in 14 games. Killie and St Mirren propping up the coefficient
TPAFKA Jersey 2
Are we still in a position where 5th in the League will qualify for Europe (assuming one of the top 4 wins the Scottish Cup), or does that still depend on the performance of our clubs in Europe this season?

We still have 5 places up for grabs this season. Have to rank top 15 to retain 5 for next season (title holder slots aren't cascaded in the same way now); at this early stage we're 17th but it's tight 11th-18th.

That is being Anti-Scottish. MT wants no teams to play in Europe so celebrating any points is heresy.
ahemps
Scotland are currently 23rd for this season with the points from 20-21 dropping off which was the most from the pervious 5yrs (8.5). Even a few wins might not be enough to stop Scotland dropping out of the top 20 for 2026.
10menwent2mow
It's the disastrous 2022/23 campaign that's f**king the coefficient when 'Rangers' were the worst Champions League team ever and the Dons weren't in Europe to save us.
Ginaro Posted Thursday at 21:11 Share Posted Thursday at 21:11 Now that everyone has played, compared to the table above basically everyone below has caught up to Israel and their single club in 13th - we started 2.125 behind and are now just 0.925 back with the three wins. https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/crank2025.html
