scottmcleanscontacts
Not conducive to producing pacy attacking left wing backs. Right wing backs, on the other hand...Jason Kerr would have a field day. Also looks like something on Volta Football.

Wonder if there's a wee man in a coracle in the water, circa Shrewsbury in the Gay Meadow days.

PauloPerth
That team in blue reminds me of playing subbuteo. No matter how well you spaced them out at the start the wee shites always used to end up in a wee group over on one side like they were having a fucking union meeting.
GNU_Linux
Cove's old Allan Park on Loirston Road was a really tight ground with the highlight being the what I assume was the hospitality/executive bit behind the glass. Cove left in 2015 as they were unable to upgade the ground to meet SFA licensing criteria groundsharing with other HL clubs before moving into their new Balmoral Stadium in 2018. Think the Allan Park site is housing now.

Tidy ground and cracking wee bar beside it too.
tamthebam
I went there once in 1991 when they played Caley. I got the bus from Aberdeen city centre and can remember an old guy saying something to me in pure Doric and me not having a clue what he was saying.

Subbuteo always ended up in a fight ........ "that wisnae a flick, that wis a shove ........ 'no ah didnae it wis a flick" ..... aye right ....". Somehow Fifa 21 and all its predecessors just doesn't quite capture the same magic of the game ....

Never had an opportunity to watch a game there unfortunately but passed it many times when I worked in Aberdeen, great looking wee ground.
resk
Went to a handful of games at Allan Park over the years. There always seemed to be more folk behind the glass having a great time than in the rest of the ground (admittedly not unheard of in the Highland League....) and there didn't really seem to be much of a bump from the Dons being away from home - especially compared to last season. It'a amazing what a step up to the national league can do, and possibly also the new ground, although the old one was probably better for amenities and access.
Flybhoy
As it's cup final day, here's some old pictures of Hampden from around 1980, featuring the old precarious looking North Stand atop some crush barrier porn and the even more precarious looking press box which sat on top of the South Stand at a odd and frankly dangerous looking angle. The Golden God
Not really a quirk but the legroom in the seats behind the goals at Rugby Park doesn't really exist. I've felt more comfortable sitting on a Ryanair flight. I'm skinny and small and it's basically impossible to sit down. Never sat in the other stands so no clue if they're the same.

Don't venture in to the main stand at Cappielow!
