Seems like quite a balanced system that. Some far-leftism combined with some far-rightism.

Marxism - a political philosophy that will still be taught in 100 years. Leninism - an adaptation of Marxist philosophy that will still be a consideration for political thinkers in 100 years. Starmerism - an obscure question in a pub quiz in 10 years time that no one will get right.

Say as little as possible and hope the opposition is unpopular enough that the electorate will project their desires on to you. With Tony it was socialism or, for middle-England, continuity and less open corruption and sexual deviancy. With Keef, it's more punitive measures against foreigners and the poors, which is what everyone seems to want, even people who are poor themselves.

If Starmerism is going to achieve the longevity of Blairism he will need to support an illegal war. Given the present state of the U.K. military the target should be no bigger than San Marino.

"Fight for are country! Earn your council house! If you make it back in one piece."

Although it's really unlikely that Labour will get a second term, if they can form a government at all, so Keef might want to ask the Americans to get to work on that. Who's available to invade without causing nukes to start flying around? The US might wind themselves up enough to have a go at Mexico in the name of "protecting are borders" at some point in the future, but that's a long ways off yet.

Soapy FFC
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jun/17/uk-delis-could-be-forced-to-put-up-prices-after-new-brexit-tax Quote In its consultation document for the industry, Defra admits that it is planning the new charging regime in order to “recover operating costs for government-run border control posts in England”, many of which were built shortly after Brexit to conduct a regime of checks on goods of plant and animal origin that has never come into force because of a series of government U-turns. Quote The Brexit charge will affect food imports from the EU entering the country via government-run facilities, such as the Dover border control posts which handle 90% of food imports from the EU mainland. .The consultation makes clear that commercial ports will be left to determine their own charges. Good to see the Govt is doing everything it can to combat food inflation. I would assume that commercial ports will see this as an opportunity to put up charges.

Suspect Device
Trumpeting this as a Brexit benefit Not sure that it has anything at all to do with it. If, for instance, they removed VAT from energy bills, then they could rightly call that a brexit benefit but surely we had control of alcohol duty pre-Brexit.
