Mark Connolly
As much as this is a total clusterfuck, and is drawing the tedious pish out even longer, it is absolutely glorious to see Johnson and Mogg finding out that they are neither as clever as they think they are, nor are they as clever as they thought the others were.
welshbairn
@Ad Lib setting a terrifying exam paper in this thread. Hopefully some interviewer will use them to question Rees Mogg. Johnson would just start talking about his cardboard bus.

Although I’m not sure the answer to “Why is it a good deal?” is “Well it just is”. An excruciating ten minutes from two hours and seven minutes If MPs elsewhere are taking the supposed moral stance of representing the will of their brexity constituents, why in the name of the wee man are we subjecting ourselves to these characters?

There was a guy from the SDP on the radio last week who just kept repeating "it absolutely has to happen" whenever the latest exit deal was mentioned, to the point that other callers and even the host picked up on it and started asking why. The answer was "it absolutely has to happen", to the point that they had to eventually give up and move on. I reckon it was a recorded loop of David Owen from thirty years ago. The SDP, for f**k's sake.

Does anything actually happen when such things come to light? I mean it's such a common occurrence, some caught out lying, wrongly spending tax payers money, its met with such apathy, does someone get sacked, disciplined or just say sorry to some committee member then carry on regardless. It doesn't seem that long ago any scandal would signal the END of a political career but now the fact that on individual is getting publicity propels them to PM, its crazy imo!

btb
I'm not shedding any tears but with "The Letter" (all 3 of them ) and various Tory "rebels" indicating their intention to vote with the government on the Bill now I'd say the circumstances had changed. Quote “My ruling is that the motion will not be debated today as it would be repetitive and disorderly to do so,” he told MPs. Anyway, the clock is ticking... Anyone who thinks Bercow’s ruling is biased simply doesn’t understand anything about the procedures which Bercow fully explained.
