I see the Guardian has a daily updated blog on how MPs will vote - at the minute it's not even close, by their reckoning.

412 against compared to 227 for.
This includes 93 Tories who are against.

If only she could persuade ALL those 93 Tories to switch their vote, she will win it by 1 vote.

Sounds like a challenge to me.

Only if she's completely insane.

If it was good enough for Alexandra Burke it's fucking well good enough for that rickety old witch.

She’s now obliged to take her proposal to the House.  If she looses with anything approaching these numbers then she really should resign.

One of the great successes of British politics being effectively a duopoly is to make the public believe that whatever happens in the country politically, nothing will change.
That simply encourages people to believe in the staus quo, and at the same time discourages debate, discussion and passion for anything different.
Brexit is the biggest political upheaval in British politics since the 2nd world war, and it's beyong insane that there's a whole country of utter f*ckwits out there that are shrugging their shoulders and saying 'ach, nothing's gonna change'.
(Not calling your dad an utter f*ckwit btw)
I think the point is that he wants massive change.

I don't really see how the changes can ever be positive from a left of centre point of view.

Sneakily educating them about what a shite idea Brexit is and preparing them for another vote. Maybe.

You think a slanging match between May and Corbyn would achieve that ? She needs to be attempting to get her own party onside otherwise she's toast ! Brexit as any leaver voted for it is long since dead, it's currently an extension of Cameron's renegotiation minus the benefits. How anyone could manage to totally alienate two sides which were already poles apart in ideology is baffling but somehow parliament have achieved that. An astonishing failure by all concerned.

If she "looses" with anything approaching those numbers she'll need a new arse...

Do you want to leave the EU? 52% yes. Not sure what's so difficult about this tbh. A second vote because of 18months of Tory infighting would seem quite undemocratic to a lot of people.

If it was solely down to the divisions within the Tory ranks, May would stroll through the HOC vote on this deal. With the support of the opposition parties she would command a huge majority. The problem being that the opposing benches and millions of voters who they represent are just as divided.
Present the deal back to the electorate, they either back the proposal and we leave, or we reject it and remain. It’s clear that there is no room (or appetite) for further manoeuvre within the EU to ‘win’ concessions, it’s just wishful thinking at this stage.
Get it done!

The ultra yoon Bertie Armstrong, he of the Scottish Fishermen's Federation, has come from:

we wouldn't allow anyone access to our fields and factories, so they won't be fishing in our waters type statements

to

"control over access to our waters and who catches what stocks".

Anyone that has been taken in by such rhetoric must be feeling naive in extremis.

Like Mundell he should be resigning.

They can't of course, because like Comical Ali, they know but can't say that the game is up.

The government are refusing to publish the full legal advice received about Brexit despite unanimous support for a Labour motion to do so.

So they are legally obliged to do this yet not complying.  That could become interesting.

PM currently on tour in Wales, then Northern Ireland.  Apparently also has plans to visit Scotland.

Wonder what kind of a reception she'll get - especially if she's planning to visit any of the fishing communities.

She is off on tour to hear what the people have to say.

At the same time, if anyone actually does have anything to say, she will point out that the referendum result must be respected and there is nothing more to say about it.

Given Downing Street tried to simultaneously play down a debate and yell "BRING IT ON" I don't know the people around May really understand what they want from a debate either. Maybe they saw the mounds of American conservatives demanding a debate with Ocasio-Cortez and decided to follow suit?

I don't believe May is Brexit daft.

Has anyone ever asked how she voted in the referendum?

She was the same as Corbyn, claimed to have voted Remain but went AWOL for the campaign.

Well we all know how she voted, but she has to respect the will of those who voted leave, and at the same time deliver the very best brexit she can for the whole of the UK.

She's an amazing woman!

NOT.
