Joey Barton....Get the popcorn, the fun & games have just begun.

Recommended Posts

All this stemmed from joey and Halliday arguing over how the hoops fckd them 5-1

And incidentally Barton's worse game of the season to date. As a teammate you might be able to take his criticism if he'd just played a blinder!

Is there anything to be taken from Oor Joey removing all Rangers stuff from the face of his Twitter account?

Officially, of course. It's obvious he just doesn't give a f**k about them.

Different version I've heard was Barton took out a young lad in training and Halliday stepped in. Allegedly Barton then had words will Halliday and other players.

Because Halliday wanted to take him out? Good looking lad was he?

Probably the fact he knows it'll mean he'll continue to be talked about

I think most sane folk knew Joey Barton only gives a f**k about Joey Barton, before he joined Rangers, or any other club he's ever signed for.

That's the problem most rangers fans swore he oozed class and would do brilliant up here. Where everyone else knew what was coming.

Hard to define 'most' but the jury seemed to be out for The P&B Bears before his signing.  We are, though, a canny lot.

Barton, on his game and in the right league is a very good player. He just doesn't have the legs to cope with Scottish football

Miley he also didn't know how our team played and stuck out like a sore thumb.  He also thought he was better than he was.

A mistake, and an expensive one at that.

I think he thought he could swagger up here and stroll it week in week out, his average perforances then the Celtic result was an eye opener for him and he's worked his ticket out. Our game is better than what the English think it is, we are guilty of talking it down too.

I'm quite confident that Barton would've had a successful time at Rangers given time.  For anyone to think that someone could come in and dominate the league immediately is a bit mental, it takes a really rare/quality player to have a real immediate impact.

Barton's problem is that he thought he could've came in and strolled the league.  Add this to his huge ego and desire to be the constant news story and its turned out to be a really poor experience for all who have ties to Rangers or the player.

Its pretty clear to me that he is feart to play us again and is trying to ensure he doesn't need to cross paths with our boy Taylor again.

Barton clearly thought he was strolling into some part time conference type league having swallowed the way that scottish football is portrayed down south. He was found out due to fact we are nowhere near as poor as sfa or Strachan like to portray

I feel a song coming on ...

Oh, the sun shines bright on Joey Barton

His boots are resting

His banker investing

And his new Rangers strip it won't need mending

Before they send him

Back to Ingerland.

(To the tune of  ' The moon shines bright on Charlie Chaplin ' )

Joey Barton remains suspended by Rangers following a meeting with Ibrox officials on Thursday.

The 34-year-old midfielder has been absent from the club since a training-ground row in the wake of September's 5-1 loss at Celtic Park.

He has played only eight games for Rangers since his summer switch from Burnley.

Barton is also facing Scottish FA charges relating to a breach of their betting rules.

He was charged with placing 44 bets on games between 1 July and 15 September.

The former Manchester City, Newcastle United and QPR player left Turf Moor under freedom of contract at the end of last season, signing a two-year deal at Ibrox.

Despite being told to stay away, Barton has stated repeatedly that he wants to return and fight for his place.

Along with agent Eddy Jennings, he arrived at Ibrox at 15:00 BST on Thursday, leaving by a side exit some two hours later, offering no comment to the gathered media.
