Morton v Queen of the South

Recommended Posts

We didn't need to be at our best and still Queens never really threatened us. Gunning and O'Ware strolled through the game.

Bit of a pish game tbh after a bright opening. Both teams struggled when playing against the wind, while we played with the wind in the first half better than Queens managed in the second half.

I was in the stand today for the first time ever for a league game, sitting over at the sinclair Street end and I saw McDonagh's challenge at a perfect angle and I have to say he was very lucky to stay on the pitch. It was never a 50/50 ball and he lunged in high and hard.

This argument is based on logic, which is why you've failed to grasp any part of it.

.......except that no, it isn't; it's based solely on your opinion. Thanx for playing tho.

pretty horrible out there now, thank gawd it wasn't a 3.00 start!

That was a very big three points. Didn't play well in the second half but dug in for the win. Other than the blocked cross when Queens' no. 11 went through on goal they didn't really get a clear chance, but they put us under a lot of pressure. Improvement needed - we need Quitongo back for a start - but that was the type of game that just needed winning.

Sir Gavin Gunning is an absolute colossus.

a good 3 points, especially with Raith drawing. Under the cost a wee bit in the second half, but one wee defensive mixup and that quick free kick apart Queens didn't create much at all after halftime. Bring on Smurn.......

I like your reference of Stephen Dobbie as "Queens Number 11".

Disappointed that we couldn't get anything from the the game. Never mind, it is almost Christmas, so I will not be down beat.

Merry Christmas to my fellow doonhamers and of cours all the Morton fans on P&B. Have a good one folks.

A typical 50:50 Championship match that we have an uncanny knack of losing or failing to win.

Given how poor Morton were in the second half we were just about worth a point but lost after conceding a very foolish free kick (Marshall) and then giving O Ware a free header (Brownlee). Not sure why Dobbie goal was disallowed?

Early days but haven't been impressed by Naysmith. If we compare the Dunfermline reaction to a 1-0 HT deficit last week to our reaction today............for the first 20 mins of second half we were pedestrian despite having the wind and needing a goal to avoid yet another insipid defeat. Teams are not even having to play well to beat us. Very few of our players got pass marks and I now turn up at games fearing the worst (and usually get it).

Again we were able to field a decent enough 11 on paper but players seriously underperforming week after week.

Zero goals and zero credible attempts on goal this season says it all. A comfortable fit for Sir Gavin's back pocket of gubbins Championship forwards.

A swift change of "as usual" to "this season". You're statement is now acceptable.

As you were.

Yet another ball into the box leads to a goal. Even more disappointing when you consider that Morton only had two players in the side with any kind of aerial threat.

Morton were the better team first half but didnt threaten much from open play, although Forbes almost scored a peach from 25 yards late on second half. We had chances, though, Dobbie should have done better through on McNeil and then we had a goal disallowed, which Im not sure anyone in the ground actually knew what for.

Second half, Morton were content to sit and hit on the break and while we had most of the ball we didnt really create enough to deserve a win, although Dobbie hit the side netting and Ferguson maybe should have done better with his chance.

Overall, a draw would have been a fairer result but we cant defend set pieces like that and expect to get anything from games.

That was bang average Ross Forbes with his umpteenth assist of the season today.
