Old Firm Colts in L2

Great stuff from McCart:

'We've consulted and listened and treated everyone with respect and had progressive discussions.

But it's happening anyway'

Great to see him crawl away.  Well done to all who played a part.  Be ready to do It again when this shite inevitably returns.

"There was a concern over relegation, there was a willingness for reconstruction, there was a desire for some freshness rather than playing everyone four times a season, so these are all things to explore."

I bet hes not wanting to reduce the 4 games for his big team ! Fuckin moron !!!

cowden cowboy has aways been a cowden fan, as were his father and grand father im sure iv read before.

all the 'cowden are bluenoses' banter is pretty pre-historic to be honest, and comes from a league 2 forum that moan about others not moving on from sectarian views.

he also has a very analytic manner which differs from most on here who are more to the point.

anyway, cowden cowboy is definitely not 1 of the reasons scottish football is considering this scenario, so time to move on, there are real targets better concentrated on.

For someone who knows nothing of the guy you really do know nothing. Since you are pretty sure, can you please provide your source for the 'bluenose'  comment?

Can I suggest you read ' Helicopter Dreams'.  It is a brilliant book about lower division football:  there are a few details about CC and some of the other true blue Cowden supporters which you may find of interest.

No offence was meant, but from skimming through your club thread I got the impression that there was a chap who used to be a Rangers fan but turned into a CFC one. I thought it was CC but am happy to retract it if I am mistaken.

Looks like we have them on the back foot meantime but you know they are going to be back again. I still maintain the only fair way is one club one team within the actual league structure. If some of the clubs want to & can support another team then put together a reserve or B-Team league & let them play against each other in that & dump the development league & just let players find their level if playing in reserve sides is too much for them loan them out to lower level teams or just admit they are probably not going to make it anyway.

Cowden 316 was a Rangers fan but started supporting his local team when we moved to the town.

That must be the one then, thanks.

Anyway - get McCart and all associated with this into the lava under Mt Doom please.

Of course it will. Just like Nicola's Referendum and Brexit: the Chosen Ones just don't like the message  and will keep at it. No, No and No again to all three :thumbsdown:thumbsdown:thumbsdown

That article suggests the lowland league will be the next target completely ignoring eofs and sofs. If it happens then it really needs to be a new west of Scotland league at tier 6

I would wager the LL sides would take the £15k given the crowds in that league.

More shame on them if it came about, it does not change the fact that its fundamentally wrong. Personally would like to see the colts left out or boycotted from the Challenge Cup asap if it needed more teams included then it should have been sides from the LL/HFL that were given the opportunity
