In theory this should mean that at least every eight years there's a refresh and that a potential successor is being primed. Of course, in practice they seem to enjoy picking the shittest, least progressive candidates possible because anything remotely sensible like free healthcare and increased gun control is "too socialist" for most people. There's a wee anomaly, pub quiz, in there, if Biden eg became incapacitated for say a year or two and VP Harris took over as President, she can then be elected for the following two terms. Just a wee btw.

Inanimate Carbon Rod
For the ones espousing Forbes as FM, are they comfortable with the fact shes pretty conservative and shares values and beliefs more aligned to Jacob ReesMogg than Mhairi Black?

Salvo Montalbano
Notice most politicians of all colours gave generic "I may have disagreed but..." comments, but the c**t's c**t, Alistair Jack had to say something along the lines of "hopefully the new FM gives up talking about Independence". He really is a big bag of pish, isn't he?

The Pulitzer must be inevitable now. I'm amazed no journalist has ever thought about phoning some sources until now.

I wouldn't go as far as comparing her to the ultra fascist privately educated Rees Mogg but I would agree with you that her religious beliefs are out of step with modern Scotland, and I am an SNP party and Futures Forum member.
topcat(The most tip top)
Angus Robertson is a strong Favourite with the bookies Best price around 5/4 at time of posting Forbes is about 7/2 Swinney, Yousaf and Brown all out around 10/1 https://www.oddschecker.com/politics/british-politics/scottish-politics/next-first-minister

Savage Henry
Presumably all the Yer Da/Wings fruit loops who promised to vote Tory are back on board the SNP train and/or taking credit for this? I doubt Swinney or Brown get into it. McAllan might - she's seen as up and coming, youthful but without the religious baggage that comes with Forbes. Yousaf might still as well, has a lot of ministerial experience by now though that might in of itself be a stick to beat him with.
Trogdor
Surely we can do better than Angus Robertson? Losing an election to Douglas Ross should disbar you from the role of First Minister imo.

There's a long way to go and you're right that name recognition does seem to be driving the early market hence Alex Salmond at 50/1 and <checks notes> noted football official and c**t Douglas Ross at 33/1

For that to happen they would need to pick a TERF as FM, which I'm not sure will happen.

Forbes may have beliefs people dont agee with but she should be given a chance to answer those questions. Some politicans easily separate personal beliefs from serving as a leader/politican. Though ofcourse its part of them. I think shes seems the better option overall. Roberston is a possibility but hes a bit bland
