We've budgeted for the financial gain. If we reverse that decision now, we need to revise our budget and eat into the McGinn money which makes no business sense at all.

And while football clubs should not be run as a business, if we take the financial hit, we're increasing the likelihood of taking a huge on in May by being relegated again.

Revise the budget. Safety 1 Bean Counters 0

That's great, as long as you accept:

Players budgeted for: possibly -2 or -3

I think you over estimate how much we'll make from giving them the family stand. Say 1600 extra tickets sold, 20 quid on average a head, is 32 grand, X three, assuming we don't get top six, so just short of 100 grand in total. That's only one decent signing.

I would guesstimate that your average good player at this level would be getting about £1000 a week so possibly a couple of players.

The tickets are £27 for adults and only a small percentage of the 1600 will be concessions.

Less VAT less the income foregone for the cheaper South Stand season tickets because they cover fewer games, any increased stewarding / policing ( i’m Guessing 1600 OF fans need more looking after than a bunch of kids!)

Takes you well below £100k extra put out by the board. In addition if a player is on say £800 a week (£40k pa ish) then the cost to the employer is closer to £55k with Employers NIC, pension contributions etc.

So the extra income for kicking kids out the stand is a player and a bit or if we did actually pay £75k transfer fee for Heaton then that is the money already blown.

How is the cost to the employer £55k for a £40k salary? Around £44k if you include employers NI. Another £800 in pension contributions.

The general point being made here is that we've budgeted for the extra income. If the club then forego that, they're less competitive, making it far harder to stay up or try to climb the league.

Whether that's 2 players or 1, it would have us at a disadvantage which we needn't be at.

Celtic and Rangers fans have regularly come to McDiarmid and broken seats and/or broken toilets/sinks, I doubt you'll make as much money of them as you hope.

One really has to wonder what the f**k is going on inside the heads of folk who can't attend a fitba match without smashing things up.

Very little, presumably.

I would say they are what Stalin called "useful idiots".

There is clearly a section within all supports that go from normal wallopper to incandescent raging fucknugget within seconds. It seems the OF specialise in these types, presumably because their clubs are always claiming that everyone is against them and that they are not getting treated fairly. The clubs know that if they stoke discontent people will act on it, especially at away grounds as the club's liability is massively reduced.

You see you could argue that this is all just "exuberant rivalry", we've seen Hearts and Hibs fans vandalise their respective rivals stadiums, but you don't see Hearts and Hibs also trash every other ground too. It seems strangely particular to OF fans, and granted it is just a small minority, that every single club in the country is seen as "the enemy" and thus "fair game".

Liam Smith about to be announced for Ayr, good signing? Can he cover left back as well? Harvie got sent off on Saturday so need left back covered in our next league match.

Cover? He'll end up owning that position if he plays as well for you as he did for us.

Is this a perm or a loan? If it's perm, I wouldn't expect him to be with you for more than a year if you don't make a dent on the title race.

There is no real evidence that either Stalin or Lenin used that phrase.

The exact origin is in question, you are right, what is not in question is the meaning.

He’ll be first choice right back I would imagine, just need someone to cover left back for the Dunfermline match next week. I would imagine a loan unless Hearts have agreed to release him. Seems to be the missing piece of the jigsaw for our squad.
