That all sounds like common sense, but for the majority of gimps I've worked with, in various jobs over the years, it isn't. You'd be amazed how many folk would go to a job alone or with me, and be completely underprepared for it, run into issues and have to go back another day to finish it. When my dad died last year I took 4 days - the day he died and the next day, and the day of his funeral and the day after. I probably could have taken more. It was 3 weeks or so from death to funeral, and I really didn't want to not work in between. Are you able to at least break the week up for as and when you need it, e.g. a couple of days to get your head around things, another for arrangements etc and then a couple for the funeral itself? Dunno if you're close enough to your direct manager to fire her a quick message or email whilst shes on AL, but if she's a bit more compassionate and got your back more than whoever you're dealing with I her absence, I'd give it a shot. Otherwise, f**k it mate, as long as you get paid get the line fired in. No-one can be expected to get over the loss of a parent or any close family member for that matter in a week ffs.
