Hopkin would be stupid appointment, he’s similar to Ray. Done well in a lower budget team

This. Just need to look at the past week, pumped off Dunfermline and scraped past Brechin.

United should be going nowhere near him.

Calm down lads. 50 people have applied. John Hughes won't be the best at anything in a pool of 50 people. Thompson's probably getting the free managers done and out the way first.

Just because he's being interviewed doesn't mean he's getting the gig.

Hopefully.

49 of these CVs will have been from FM legends and the usual chancers who apply for every managerial job going, the Ravanellis and the like. They'll be straight in the bin.

If Dumb Dumb wasn't a serious contender he would not be getting an interview, he's right in the mix:lol:

Just hoping his Boiler Suit/Stepping Up to The Plate type chat has done enough to fool Thompson into giving him the gig.

I feel a wee bit sorry for ST, he’s got to get this one right.

On a similar note the bunch of arseholes at the far end of the stand in Dumbarton yesterday were a complete embarrassment.

Most of them were young lads but there were a couple of older guys who should just f**k off and die somewhere.

Crap ‘Thomson Out’ banner and a few chants that got no support.  Older guys escorted out then stood outside stadium with banner.  The older guys were mouthy losers.

The anti Thomson stuff is an embarrassment, if someone wants to come up with a plan for United with real financial backing then let’s hear it.

I fully agree. Hes a toss pot but theres nobody else on the horizon. Unless you believe the American rumours.

I don't think he's a toss pot.  His biggest mistakes have been hanging on to McNamara and McKinnon for too long.

Dont agree with all his financial decisions but he was handed a parcel of shit from his old man; the club would have gone belly up if he hadn't have managed the debt the way he did.

Why anyone who is not an extremely wealthy died-in-the-wool supporter of any Scottish club would want to get involved is beyond me.  Fair play to Dundee that they have apparently found such people.

Key line here.  Alot of the S Thompson haters seem to miss this point. I was referring to him as a toss pot mainly due to his (alleged) personal shenanigans.

Hes actually been a good chairman over the piece but the last few years have sadly undone most of the good work. He backed the wrong guys well and it's bitten him on the arse.

I think he's going to be here a while. This next appointment could really do alot for his reputation amongst most fans - if he gets it right.

I really really dont think fan ownership schemes are the way forward. Not for us anyway - I dont trust a single fans group.
