I see the P&B socially conservative brains trust is out and about.
Apparently this charity campaign is a "marketing gimmick". A blinding flash of the fucking obvious, that is what pretty much most\all charity campaigns are marketing and usually a bit gimicky to gain attention.
Red nose day, pudsey the bear\children in need, run for life etc. You are trying to get a combination of a message to the public and raise money for activism or aid to the group(s) you are supporting. Having a hook to gain press attention and public engagement really helps.
Football is currently among the most backward of the major sports in this regard in the UK and so the various associations can likely see some good publicity while there is a pretty key demographic for the message of broadening acceptance as shown by the many "I have nothing against them but...." type posts.

We now have a *** giving a lecture on acceptance.

This thread has it all.

Any other teams wearing them today?

Graeme Shinnie did on Wednesday if I remember correctly.

Id just love it if he grew up to be an atheist.

There will be atheists in the royal family who are quite happy to keep quiet about it to ensure the money keeps rolling in.

Berra did and they interviewed the people from Hot Scots FC (Scotland’s First Gay football club) and Tynecastle Pride (Hearts’ LGBT Supporters club) on the pitch at half time.

That's it, mate. If you don't have Grindr and a favourite drag queen from Ru Paul then you're a homophobe. That's the rules of the gay agenda.

I'm a big fan of Grindr, but I must confess to having never watched Ru Paul. Is this what they mean by internalised homophobia?

Having been involved in an LGBT football fan group, I wouldn't even mind as much if homophobes just accepted the fact they were homophobes. Rather that than the "I don't care what they are, just don't bring politics in to football!!!"

In fact, we got a whole host of lovely comments from 'fans' on social media:

- "Everything that's wrong with society is people like you, jump on a bandwagon why don't you, take it to an extreme level"
- "so your saying someone that's gay would be offended by the word poof aimed at a straight person with a fancy hair do?" (This was a personal favourite of mine)
- "this is not for me. And I don't apologise for my strait view"
- "plumbers are a minority. Don't see their flags though"

Let's ignore the fact that 72% of people have heard homophobic abuse at football games and 1/5 of 18-24 year olds would be embarrassed if their favourite player came out as gay, because Bob - who doesn't care about whatever sexuality you are - has assured us that he's never heard any abuse at a game.
