Arch Stanton
If you're counting the Summer Cup as a "substitute Scottish Cup" then we're also counting the 1919 Victory Cup

Flybhoy
Ally McCoist in a cracking Scotland away strip in Belgium in 1987 on a night we were skelped 4-1 against a Belgian side inspired by Nico Claesen who scored a hat trick. Paul McStay scored a belter on an otherwise night to forget from a Scottish perspective, neither side made it to the European Championships in West Germany the following year, we actually finished above Belgium, coming third in the group, this was the campaign a late Gary Mackay winning goal in Bulgaria prevented them from qualifying and allowing Ireland to make it to their first major tournament.

War Shield (1917-18), Victory Cup (1918-19), War Emergency Cup (1939-40), Summer Cup (1940-41 > 1944-45) and Victory Cup (1945-46) were equivalent 'substitute' tournaments. I've got that shirt. I bought it in a sale for a fiver over 30 years ago. It would be worth £££s now but mine's a bit tatty. Not for sale btw.

With Stephane Demol, who died suddenly last summer.
Eednud
The late Alan Gordon scoring one of a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Dumbarton in the old First Division in April 1974.:His second hat-trick of the season,as he scored all of Hibs goals in a 3-3 draw with Dundee in March. Dundee winning the replay at Dens 3-0 in front of 30,888. Have a feeling there hasn’t been a higher crowd at Dens since then, Alan Gordon played for Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee United. Picture from cover of the Hibs v Arbroath prgramme from Arbroath Archive.

Went along to see Joe Harper do well, but Dundee were magnificent that night.

There were many people who never saw any of the 3 goals Dundee scored cause it took them that long to get in. The 3-3 draw at Easter Road is one of the finest matches I've ever seen. Big crowd at that too, 28,000 plus if I remember correctly

HibeeJibee
It was very common for Scottish clubs to tour England the days either side of a Home Championship international at Wembley, but rare up here in the opposite years. This was about the only example, today in 1970. Hearts had just ended a decent campaign finishing 4th in Division One... although as Hibs finished above them this wasn't rewarded with European Fairs Cup entry (instead 5th place Dundee Utd and 7th place Kilmarnock both qualified - as 6th place Dundee also missed out) but only Texaco Cup participation; they went on to defeat Hibs in the East of Scotland Shield the next Friday to add silverware to the season. Coventry were a force in English football during this period and had just finished 6th in top tier, which took them into Europe for the first time, in what would prove the last-ever edition of the Fairs Cup before it became the UEFA Cup. Scotland-England finished 0-0 the following afternoon meaning a 3-way share of the title between England, Scotland and Wales. Friday 24th April 1970 Heart of Midlothian 0-0 Coventry City 5,729 Edited April 24 by HibeeJibee

Flybhoy
Gary Gillespie challenging during Scotland's 2-1 win in Norway, the opening match of our successful (just) qualification campaign for Italia 90 in September of 1988, I say 'just' because we almost made a complete arse of it taking one point from the last six available in the two points for a win era after getting off to a flyer in the first few games. We scraped over the line with a draw against Norway at Hampden on the final game despite a then customary howler from Jim Leighton, letting a last minute 40 yarder from Erland Johnson slip through his hands when we were 1-0 ahead, edging out France of all teams for second spot in the group and a place in the finals where Costa Rica awaited Edited April 24 by Flybhoy
