williemillersmoustache
If it gets built I'm up for naming it after him. Or maybe just calling one end The Del.

What happens to the statue when he inevitably goes to Rangers? Chop the wings off?

lubo_blaha
Maybe Spiers knows something we don't and we're actually switching back to the Loirston plans.More likely though that he's an ignorant media f*ckwit using an image over 5 years out of date for stadium plans at a completely different location.

NorthernLights
The WECC published this... https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Z4ywTPbD9sEJ:https://westhillelrick.org/2017/09/14/afc-stadium-hearing-weccs-case/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-b-ab It has now been removed from their site after a number of people questioned their ability to come to such a statement while claiming... Quote WECC would like to make it clear has never been affiliated to any organisation with regard to its stance on the stadium. In reaching a position, considerable time and effort was spent studying and discussing the proposal, weighing the advantages and disadvantages from a community perspective. and having two of their members listed as directors of the NKS group.
Flybhoy
Reading today that some of the objectors are saying the new stadium development near to where they live could make them and the surrounding area a terror target. That is equally crass as it is desperate.

You can watch it here and it is worth a watch thats for sure - Edited September 17, 2017 by NorthernLights

It's dependant on Aberdeenshire Council approving the footbridge and parking zone then. Their recommendation was that the plans should be refused (not that that meant anything at the time). Actually wouldn't be surprised if they rejected it over something trivial like this.
NorthernLights
I need to work through this article by NKS - http://www.nokingsfordstadium.org.uk/2017/08/23/nks-pour-cold-water-on-afc-no-european-football-statements/ I like the bit where they claim Wick Academy have a Category 2 stadium by UEFA standards.
Salvo Montalbano
To be fair they do say that Wick would pass only on the "Capacity test". I'm sure Pittodrie could continue to host European games even if it was in the midst of bring redeveloped but the demand would surely outstrip supply. Whether that means you'd have to play in Edinburgh or Glasgow is another matter entirely.

UEFA state that a category 2 stadium requires a minimum seated capacity of 1500 and 0 standing allowed. Wick has 300 seats. Peterhead, Elgin City, Inverurie Locos and Fraserburgh who they also claim pass the "capacity test" for a category 2 stadium are all well short of 1500 seats. They just looked at a list of stadium capacities on Wikipedia and that was it.
RandomGuy.
Worth noting that Atalantas stadium failed the UEFA test so they've been forced to play elsewhere
