Clockwork
Invite a well known sardonic wit onto your show and not expect them to rip the piss out of this whole pantomime with Liz Truss in a starring role? Talk about an open goal. The rest of us can’t take this seriously, neither could Joe Lycett.

It's not like Lycett tried to hide his take on the show.

Sherrif John Bunnell
Lycett has got the Tory media absolutely rattled.

Pleasing to see that it’s the grovelling BBC they’re targeting - this when anyone who watches even a clip can see that the host was utterly rattled by Lycett not saying what was expected and what she’d prepared for. The more the BBC bends the knee to the government of the day, the more criticism they’ll cop from those trying to push that government into more extreme positions.
Miguel Sanchez
Now will you lot believe the BBC is filled with woke lefties and is unfair in its coverage of the Conservative and Unionist Party?

ONE comedian on ONE program is full? I know somebody who worked at the BBC and said it was full of people who went to public school. If these fee paying schools are giving us all these deviant lefties then we should do like Finland and get rid of them.
TheScarf
I mean, what the fuck were they expecting? The vast majority of, if not all, young comedians are left wing, so you get a left wing comedian on the first show, and rightfully rips the utter cunt out of Tories Truss, Sunak and Kuenssberg. Well played BBC. What a way to start a new show.

Fullerene
Even his last name almost sounds like the term you would use for a Liz follower.

Wile E Coyote
Why was Joe Lycett invited on to the show anyway. He is not a political comedian or particularly well known for his political commentary. What were the BBC expecting
dirty dingus
I noticed a wee bit of BBC skullduggery today. On the lunchtime politics show they said Truss was elected leader by 180,000 Tory party members, although it's a bit of a numberwang as only 80 odd k voted for her.

Billy Jean King
That's a scandalous headline, a totally blatant misinterpretation of a rumoured "cap" on rises.

In the grand scheme of things, it is fairly tame. Lowering the cap to £2500 will cut the bills that people have already been told are coming. If OFGEM hadn't yet announced the cap then you may have a point.

Billy Jean King
That's three times this morning that BBC has shown vox pop footage from both Buck Palace and Windsor where the plebs have said "queen of England " with no attempt by the BBC reporter to correct them.
Dev
She was the Queen of England and many other places too. Do you really expect journalists to be accurate!
