The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread

Interesting read at the back page of the Ayr Advertiser there.

It confirms that Andy Murdoch will sign with McCall being quoted saying "Terms have been agreed and he'll sign in the next couple of days.

It also suggests that Robby McCrorie is still the keeper we're after and McCall saying that a goalie should be in by the end of the week.

No mention of third signing but saying he'll rotate the team during the league cup games to determine who deserves to start the league campaign.

We also already have two left backs in the squad.

Is there really the fear of Ferguson dissappearing to Dumbarton?  He struggled slightly in league 1 and in my opinion, if he's willing to go back to that level whilst the rest of the team progress.... Id have Geggan or Murdoch at the right back position going forward till January.

Do you have a right back? Heard you were in for Michael Doyle a while back and he still doesn't have a club..

Played as a trialists for us and looked good. We have a friendly tonight so may play again.

Can he play at centre half?

That's where he played for us

If he’s capable of playing centre half and we’re in for him I’d be pretty happy with him signing. Good experience in the Championship and would improve our defence.

Still think it’ll be Ferguson that’ll sign or a young loanee but we’ll wait and see.

Can't see it being Doyle. He trained with us 2 or 3 weeks ago but has obviously moved on since then.

Maybe he thought he’d get a better offer elsewhere.

Unless McCall had already decided he didn’t want him in which case fair enough.

Both could very much be true. We should find out soon enough.

If we could sign Doyle and then a Goalkeeper called Bodie and then a utility player called Cowley, that would be truely wonderful, as we'd then have a team of professionals......................
