This has to be one of the weirdest and most interesting threads on the forum atm. I reckon we can think up a cracking dare for roxxy boy if shankland scores on Saturday. I reckon we could get him on the pitch like a proper 70s streaker.Who wouldn't want to see that? Roxanne probably. She'll be fed up of seeing it every night let alone seeing it at Somerset.

Honest_Man#1
If McDonald’s Ayr putting up a banner over the North Terrace is what Graeme Miller was alluding to before then it is seriously underwhelming.

I know what you are saying, but the figures must stack up as one of the best advertising deals, as he called it. Be interesting to find out how much the club is getting.

Nah, I severely doubt it. Though I presume a company that size would put forward some amount of money, I think there is something else to come in.

I don’t know I’d say that’s a pretty big deal. Would imagine we’ll get a decent fee as well. I’m not expecting it’ll go into the players fund but more money into any aspect of the club is welcome.
Honest_Man#1
Are people getting confused here? It’s not McDonald’s overall company, it’s the Ayr franchise. They won’t be paying a huge amount of cash for a banner. Probably little more than the Stagedoor/Hollybush one below it.

Plus his Partick store sponsors Partick Thistle, who he supports.
callum-ayr
Whether it’s the franchise or not, McDonalds is still a very well known name to be getting involved with. The area where they’re advertising board is will mean they’re paying a pretty penny. I’m sure they’ll be advertising Ayr Utd in store too which is beneficial. Ayr Utd kids meal toys next? Little Pandemonium’s?

Commercial manager has done not bad in bringing in a company as big as mcdonalds. I remember working at Kerr & Smith when they were pasted on the front of the Ayr shirts, I learnt that they refused to sponsor a then second division team (League 1 nowadays.) if Ayr got relegated (which they did.) so maybe it's because Ayr are now in the championship, the buzz is back and Ayr are on the up, the commercialism has improved?

Obviously money is involved. Just I remember signs like 'Vennal Cameras' & 'Mainline Taxis' who I presume pay less because they are smaller companies. Mcdonalds is probably the biggest company Ayr would have advertised, so I presume more money?
Honest_Man#1
If the guy himself has money maybe he’s putting in a decent amount, but people are getting hung up on seeing the McDonald’s name and assuming it means it’s some huge deal. I could open a Subway shop in Ayr High St tomorrow, it doesn’t mean if I wanted to sponsor Ayr Utd I’d be on the phone to HQ in the states, it would just be my money I’d be using.
Honest_Man#1
Only point I’m making is that if this is “the biggest deal in the club’s history” then we have really had a bad history of commercial deals. I’m amazed it’s more than Calvin Ayre gives for Bodog/Bitcoin tbh.
Waniche
Aye advertise Maccy’ds. Take their (franchise) dot dash and promote xxl tops. Commercial gold mine Its not like the frankwa and benwa franchise sponsor things and give discount to lottery members. Sorry im taking the news as a wet squib
