We’ve got Houston, Reading, Chalmers, Miller and Hewitt than can all play at full back. I think the friendlies have reminded us on how light we are in that position. We only have 2 senior full backs and 1 of them is currently injured. Our alternative right now for Houston is Hewitt or Muirhead.

UpInTheAyr
Kerr‘s comments in Ayrshire Post slightly concerning. Saying the hunt for the striker is going to go down to the wire. We’ve been close on two or three but have missed out on them and the way he’s talking it sounds like we’re only going to get one The good news bear strikes again.

He has assured all Ayr United fans that he will ensure that we are fine this season even without fans. Obviously he would prefer financial support from Government or football associations but that the directors would support us if required. He did state that some teams, especially Championship sides may struggle. Fair play to Lachlan and the board.
No_Problemo
It’s still a couple of weeks until the league starts - not sure we need to be concerned about a striker quite yet. Kerr clearly hasn’t been focusing on one target either, he’s not an idiot.

The way they announced it was as if we negotiated a fee for both when they were announced

Would imagine other clubs will be revising their outgoings too

Two we've missed out on are probably McPake and McIver. All these good signings are going to be no good if we don't get a goalscorer. Walsh, Zanatta and McCowan might get you 10-15 goals in the season at a push. Where's the rest coming from.... A constantly injured Craig Moore, Moffat who's goalscoring days are by him and an untested kid in McKenzie. -

The wingers in this league are technical but predominantly have pace. Weather he can keep up with those players remains to be seen.

Literally says we’ve missed out on 2 or 3 which would entirely contradict the idea of us putting all our eggs in one basket. Josh McPake isn’t a striker and Ross Mciver has no track record at this level. We can do better than both imo.

Given he wanted two strikers he’s clearly not obsessed over just one. We’re most definitely not fucked, we have two strikers signed up as well as a fantastic three to play behind them, two and a half weeks before the league starts.

rb123!
Don't think we can do any better though, we're clearly now going to be scrambling about for some young kid on loan who's going to be untested at this level. McIver scored a worldie for Motherwell in the premiership last year so can't exactly say he'd have been out of depth in championship. If only one striker comes in and it's Bruce Anderson I'll be happy. If it's some 18/19 year old who's never been out on loan to a half decent level before I'll be worried.

Your comment on Drinan is totally wrong , he was always very unlikely to join before January , Kerr has been speaking to players , looks like one nearly done and working hard on another , one of the ones we did not get was down to injuries at his parent club
