If you have to dig out a result, you need guys more like McKenzie playing. His problem has been, he played every game and it doesn't work in every game. His problem is ability, which he has none, along with most of the team.
Thumper
It is embarrassing that the club can be paying for sports psychologists while still relying on the sort of volunteer media efforts that would embarrass a local nursery school. No other club in the country gets all of its news from a Daily Record reporter fully 36-48 hours before the club can be bothered putting something out itself. Absolutely not having Bullen implying that it's scouting deficiencies that left him in this position either. The only reason the club wasn't relegation fodder last season was English scouting, and the season before that the previous English scouting success was the only reason the club wasn't cemented to the bottom of the table from the word go. It's not the club's scouting network which is to blame for the manager having no Scottish contacts of his own, and it's certainly not the club's scouting network which is responsible for getting pumped off of Cameron fucking Blues and Robbie fucking Muirhead in A.D. 2024.

To be fair to him, he looks raging in it, there are also a few edits in there. I get this feeling that he does all the work during the week, sends them out at 5 to 3 and then thinks it is in the lap of the gods after that. There is nothing he can do. He’s talking about character and belief etc. the players just aren’t good enough or they can’t/wont follow instructions or there isn’t enough repercussions for them not doing it regularly. It’s almost like an online scouting tool doesn’t tell you if a player runs hard but is also a complete charlatan
super_carson
Talking about things like character, belief, playing for the badge etc are just empty buzzwords. The football equivalent of corporate jargon.

The football equivalent of corporate jargon. One interview away from synergy and back to belt and braces being used. He wasn't quite at Kerr levels of scunnered in the post match interview but didn't seem far off. The problem is that Kerr was an easy sacking as he was Lachlan's guy. It becomes much harder to sack your own guy as it then is a reflection of your own evaluation. I've seen a couple of lunatics on FB trying to defend Bullen over night but, it is to the point you are genuinely not sure if they are serious or fishing.
Trogdor
Just watched that interview. He looks like a broken man, I genuinely thought he was going to tear up at a point there. He's done as much as he can, the board need to take him out the firing line if he doesn't make the decision for them. Thanks for your efforts Lee and good luck in the future.
AyrTroopMajor
'Started the game really brightly'. What, because Murphy fired a shot(?) onto the railway line? My word. Get him out Sharon.
stevep56
Still think the current situation may not have come about if the club had appointed a good assistant to Bullen. Not sure what Neil Scally is doing nowadays but he might have been a good choice. Internet seems to suggest he had been out of football since Feb 23. callum-ayr
The biggest issue in the squad (in a long list of things) is that we have no leaders. Under McCall, you gad your Geggans/Bells/Adams/Dochertys etc who would drag players through games, we don't have that now and that is why we fold like a deck chair a lot. No one there that will just drag the rest of the team by the scruff of the neck and get through tough games.
UpInTheAyr
Aye, that was a hard watch. Don't take any satisfaction in how this situation has unfolded but he looks a broken man and someone who knows his ticket is just about punched. I think the outcome is inevitable at this point.

Not only with Geggan etc like you said, but even Shankland and Moffat could drag us through a game. E.g that home game vs Falkirk where we were 2-0 down at half time, second half started and Shankland became immense and pulled the game back pretty much single handedly for us. Here we do have a couple of leaders like McGinty, but I don't think it runs through the team enough to be as strong mentally.

Those that you named would all throw themselves into challenges and provide some grit and solidity in the middle of the park. What we have right now is the complete opposite.
