As for dead ball players we’ve really only got Reading and Chalmers

So Reading then.

Keigan Parker is still only 39. Do you think he could be tempted out of retirement?

Has any one looked at O’Connor’s history though? Highest level played at Cork, got punted there when bottom of the league, although unclear why, dislocated his shoulder at some point and last played for a part time team. Kicked about the international Uni team. No other Irish Premier team has come in for him. Read elsewhere described as a super sub. The push for FT football seems to be his own desire rather than obvious ability. Wary of the player/agent mutual appreciation, the Twitter stuff seems a little desperate.
Being harsh but don’t see anyone commenting on him much.

Didn’t he play in the top league with Cliftonville last season? Returning quite a few goals and assists.

That track record doesn't look good compared to the highly rated Dre Wright who we signed. Could still turn out to be the next Paddy McCourt though .

It seems to match up relatively similar to Wright’s given different positions. Wright seemed to have put on several stone since leaving Irish football to come to us, so I’m not sure what we say was a reflection of him over there. Not forgetting Cammy Smith played for Dundalk and didn’t seem to do a great deal over there!

Don’t know much, thought Cork are Republic and FT, Cliftonville NI and PT hence looking for a FT club.

You are completely right about Cliftonville, not sure what I was thinking - no idea what the standard in the NI league is like in comparison!

I think him and Tam McManus could be a striking partnership made in heaven.

Has anyone checked that this O'Connor chap doesn't follow every other full time team in Scotland? emoji102.png

He follows Celtic, Livi, St Mirren and us

He’s Irish so naturally supports Celtic. Had a trial at Livvy and is mates with Jamie McGrath at St Mirren.

Must mean he’s signing….

Spoiler

Or maybe not…..

I feel it's worth pointing out that failing a trial with a different Scottish team is not an ideal harbinger. (This does not apply to St Mirren. Anyone who fails a trial at St Mirren should be signed immediately.)

Also that having a trial with someone else doesn't mean he'd get signed by Ayr immediately. He might get a trial with Ayr, and fail. Which hasn't exactly been uncommon this summer.

You seriously need to lighten up… 🙄
