Can't go wrong with McCall, though it would make him a nomad if anything, leaving clubs for others at the first opportunity.

Can't be arsed with the eventual Mulgrew Mutiny. Rather we had someone a bit more experienced.

Genuinely can’t even believe we’re having the conversation, to have a semi-credible coach and bin him with no clue who you’re replacing him with is tin pot indeed. We’re no Roma but FFS it is possible.

We didn't have a semi-credible coach.

Never keen on return players or managers hasn't worked out well in the past player wise, .... things will come good.

After all we are Ayr. we don't do things that's expected that would be normal.

They may well have had an idea. From the statement they released, they said that they had already started the recruitment process but would take CVs. To me, that would mean they had already spoken to someone or some people. Like a house for sale, subject to a signing of missives. You can submit a CV, if we fail to secure a deal, we’ll open it up to more folk.

If they called, say Boyer, on the Sunday and he said he was interested, I’d guess they would have communicated the salary band to his agent, then he comes up and doesn’t like what he hears. They are back to square one.

Sacking Lee Bullen was the correct decision. It’s obviously all if, buts and maybes however had we kept him I’m confident we’d of finished at best 9th.

We may well be making a mess of the recruitment process. There is obviously rumours about Bowyer turning us down and the fact it’s coming from more than one person suggests there probably is something in it however that doesn’t change the first point.

Breaking news from the club: The Burns Night has sold out.

Glad they were able to keep us all in the loop on that.

I'm struggling to imagine lads in kilts trying to perch on those stools at the big tables, while eating their dinner hauf cut, getting elbowed from behind by someone trying to go for a pish

If (and it's a big if, given it's based on nothing more than social media rumours) the likes of Courts and Bowyer have turned Ayr down for the reasons mentioned then maybe the club need to go back and look at how it's currently running the football side of things.

You are always likely to struggle to attract good, experienced managers if they don't get the autonomy to sign their own players who they think will fit in with the tactics and style of football they want to play.

Always good to get a running update. Doesn't say how hard he was running though.

This will no doubt be controversial but I think we need to be realistic in terms of who we can appoint.

Bowyer or Courts aren't going to come to us with the current league position and playing squad unless David Smith is going to write a blank cheque for recruitment and cover the inevitable losses from that recruitment process with his own cash.
