I do think there’s a bit of truth in saying that the level of losses Cameron constantly underwrites might not be quite so severe if the club had been run a bit better the last 15 or so years.

I've read that bit a couple of times and not quite getting the specifics?

That's my big issue.  Pathetic as it sounds, when I saw the lineup I genuinely had a slight feeling that I might just stay in the pub as right away it was obviously a 442, meaning 2 fairly static strikers and our 2 biggest attacking threats being completely nullified 20 / 30 yards too deep.  It's the fact that just about everyone can see it yet we keep going back to it that worries me big time - there was absolutely no need today.   Its completely depressing seeing teams snuff us out so simply - 2 solid lines of 4 and someone to chase long balls on the break and we are absolutely screwed.
It just builds frustration as well and makes the likes of Harvie and Houston look poor going forward, as they end up getting into decent positions but cant make the final pass as it's just so crowded with nobody making any runs.

As soon as I saw the team I didn’t think we were winning. It’s incredibly frustrating as it’s so blatant.

His record of appointing managers is pretty poor with only Reid and McCall having achieved anything at the club with the former having his fair share of failure to match it.

All going well with David Smith, I don’t think Cameron will be involved with Ayr United in a year or two. Who knows where we’ll be then?

That happens at every club, at every level of the game though surely? You can't / won't always get the "right" appointment.

There’s a difference between getting it right and making a catastrophic appointment.

Mark Robert was that, Shanks etc not much better - let’s hope he hasn’t repeated the exact same process and appointed another one of them.

There's always a middle ground.

Roberts still coaching in the senior game, he's clearly doing something right.

There’s a middle ground here - the previous two performances in our regular formation were decent again. Unfortunately Kerr keeps trying to change things which is the issue. A 4-3-3 yesterday with Docherty playing and I think we would have won. A centre half, central midfielder and a striker in January and I think we will be fine. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll happen. If he gets players in and still tries to play a 4-4-2 then we are fucked. A 4-3-3 gets the best out of Forrest, McCowan and Kelly - it’s utterly baffling that Kerr is still trying to do something different to fit Craig Moore on the team.

It isn't just the formation, its the fact we pass direct to the opposition once in every three passes, no one will have a shot at goal unless they are less than 10 yards out. The fact Bell and Muirhead give away at least one avoidable goal a game.

There are other aspects to it but we keep the ball very well when we play three in the middle of the park. It lessens the other issues.

Meaningless Sunday tenuous trivia question to attempt and lift the gloom:

What is the link between current English Premier League players Victor Lindelof and Pierre Hojbjerg?

They were both touched as children by Peter Lindau

If it's also Ayr related, did they both play youth Internationals at Somerset?  Bit of a guess re Lindelof as I know Hojbjerg did....

What’s the chat about folk being unhappy that a racist incident was reported yesterday by the home fans?

Apparently he was only a teenager but why are people raging it was reported?
On the SRE someone jokingly commented on the post "grass" or something along those lines I presume as a joke however it didn't go down well and all hell broke loose. Was quite an entertaining read.

True about Bell & Muirhead, and I thought yesterday was one of their better games. McCowan has a tendency to try and walk it into the net, and even Moff's passes were finding their way to the opposition. Forrest has went off the boil and I don't think it's down just to the formation. A few times late on yesterday Harvie way driving down the wing looking to play him through but he wasn't making the runs.

Said when Kerr was appointed he needed Peter Houston in on the dugout as an assistant and that is even more evident now, when Kerr is playing we need someone experienced and who's actually going to show emotion on the sideline.

Unlike McCardle who stands there with his hands in his pockets the whole time, we'd be aswell with Colin McArdle.

Playing 442 it has been murder.
