Well, firstly, they make their living playing (Or in McGeouch’s case did) in the SPFL Premiership. And both have proven to be very decent players at that level. So they’re not stealing a living at all, and they’ve only been called up due to the unavailability of other players. Shinnie probably won’t get another cap bar situations like this.

Says a lot about how poor the SPFL really is then.

Bain, O’Donnell, McKenna, Mulgrew, Shinnie, McLean, Christie, All been at AFC at one time or another.

Even Thistle have two ex-players on the pitch, tbf.

Carlos Vela.

Cheers, dude.

Ah, yes! The party with the Celtic player where various scurrilous rumours sprung from... They were both fined and (reading the wiki) it seems he spat the dummy between 2010-14, missing the Olympics and a World Cup finals. The petulant wee bawhawk should count himself lucky he got a recall.

Despite what Miller says - this is not a very good Mexico side.

They will do as they usually do in tournaments - not get out of the group stages.

I think they almost always make the last 16, to be fair.

They’ve qualified from the group stages at the last 2 world cups
