Miguel Sanchez
Mascherano seems to have added an extra layer of cynicism since going to China, it's great entertainment to watch.

Michael W
Argentina's players wanting the VAR anytime something remotely contentious happens is both irritating and highly predictable. It's about time players started getting booked for frivolous appeals.

Seeing players make the TV gesture like in Rugby is almost as cringy as the imaginary card and should be a booking. What are they doing differently at the WC though? The VAR doesnt seem to be even half the clusterfuck England made of it?

In England the VAR guy was watching porn rather than the game, so whenever the referee asked for a review it took him ages to turn it over. accies1874
Good half. It's a joy seeing a team defend so well, look comfortable on the ball, and also counter very well. Argentina aren't very good. Messi's acting as a deep-lying playmaker, but he only ever has options to his left, rendering them so predictable.

Would like to see Dybala come on and let Messi go up top since I love watching Dybala but I believe he is generally shite for Argentina and was lucky to make the squad. Common sense would suggest that Dybala supporting Messi and Aguero should be absolute filth but doesnt seem to be their way.

Guess we shouldn't be surprised given Argentina are the highly-strung champions of imaginary card waving. 2 minutes ago, Hedgecutter said: Teams should get a quota for VAR appeals imo. If the appeal is found to be completely without merit, the player requesting it it is booked for time wasting also.

Mostly because these officials are largely competent so they can decide when to go to VAR without much fuss then the referee only needs to look at it a few times to make a decision, whereas the standard of refereeing in England is fucking abysmal so they contrive to take five minutes plus over every single decision involving entirely simple decisions. Blue_e'hm_A_Dee
Loving the contrast in styles, Iceland are fantastic at what they do, organised and always pick up the second ball after they win the first, actually quite exciting to watch, direct but no hopeless punts up the field.
