Parz v Jagz 28/09/18

Recommended Posts

We have played some real good stuff at home this season (Ayr game excepted)  but the form away from home is totally unacceptable. The minute I saw Scobbie playing and Doolan being isolated it was clear we went looking for a draw. Our home form will keep us safe but its a mid place finish at best, unless either the manager gets sacked or has a drastic rethink on his away tactics!

Loved it when Archibald took of Doolan and then Spittal - two players who are as likely as any to pop up with a goal - although in truth it looked like both sides could play all night and not score. Our goal was very fortunate of course but after that we got a lift and played some nice stuff - the move for the chance Longridge blasted over when el Bakhtaoui was free by the penalty spot in particular was lovely, and Connelly hit the post when it looked easier to score - which just shows you what a goal can do for your confidence. Thought our central midfielders were decent today, Martin and Vincent did the simple things well although Martin's corners were terrible and Vincent should have had a shot when he found himself at the edge of the box. The front two are never a partnership though and perhaps a 4-2-3-1 might be better going forward. A win's a win though and more importantly we're 8 points ahead of Falkirk! [emoji6]

Like last season after a few defeats we went full shitfest to grind out draws then started scraping 1-0 wins. Hoping it can improve further and we start playing football again.

I’m thinking once we get Beadling and Higgy back playing we will be like our old selves again but until then we need to find a creative spark.

Now fully aboard the "win every home game and lose every away game" train.

By God, that was hopeless, had 0-0 all over it until what must be Elliott's 5th assist of the season for the opposition. After that Dunfermline skated it until the last 90 seconds and should have been out of sight by then.

Thought when I saw the line up we were playing 3-5-2 but it looked more like a 5-4-0-0-0-0-0-0-1. Quitongo doesn't look like he's big enough to play up front himself either.

Edit - obviously not the biggest problem but why were we wearing our away kit tonight? It's not as if there aren't a couple of teams in the league we'll have to wear it against.

Also, fifth clean sheet out of 12 games for Robinson this season. In a side that's mostly struggled.

That makes it 17 shut outs in 33  appearances for the club in total.

But he's shite of course....apparently.

Think how many clean sheets you'd have if Robinson had hands.

Robinson saved us two points today. If he could cut out the mistakes he wouldn’t be playing at this level. On his day he’s sensational.

*football cliche klaxon blares*

You could say that for just about every player at this level. Consistency is one of the biggest differences between the different levels of football.
