Fruit machines in pubs

Was out last Saturday and seen a few people spend most of the time on the puggy. I sometimes play the one in the birkie inn but only a couple of quid. Know a few guys who are hooked on them. Basically costs them around a £100 for a pint. Spunk all money in it then say give me a sub this is ready to pay out. Rip off. Anyone still play them?

Roulette is the only guaranteed money winner when gambling.

This is absolutely true.

Bet on black. If it doesn't come in, bet double on it again. Then again. Then again. When you win, go back to your original stake

Guaranteed winnings

Its good for me that they are fairly complicated now and i havent got a clue what half the stuff means. Years ago i would play them more and get to know the machine. It also helps that they are a total ripoff now in terms of how quickly your money can go.

Late 90's id easily put half my night out money in them and even sometimes legged it up to the pub next morning if the thing hadnt paid out.

They dont have them in pubs where i am now so i never play them now.

Gambling against idiots/lunatics is a good wee earner.

This.

I was going to try one for a laugh recently but I took one look and it and walked away.
There was no place to even put money.
I would have needed manual and a week off work to learn how to use it.

I’ll lose my money the old fashioned way. By giving it to the wife.

Used to play them a fair bit.

Rarely touch them now - after the 25p £15 days the higher stake / JP totally fucked them.

I remember the days when you'd have to queue / wait for a shot of the puggy as they were always being played, especially in social clubs, but in pubs as well.

Those days are long gone.

Was on a cruise in Egypt and ended up in the casino most nights... played one of the machines which the jackpot was something ridiculous, i won £250 which i was chuffed about ( more cash to spend on stud poker ) the machine lit up totally red whilst i was playing it. Next day the lad working in the casino decided to tell me when that happens its a guaranteed jackpot, i was devastated as it was serious cash and would of been happier not knowing.

I do however love the machines in the bookies.
