Someone sent me "Nelmsy"s programme notes from today's game. It was all a bit Romanovesque.

Good afternoon and welcome to today’s Ladbrokes Premiership match against Aberdeen Football Club. We would like to extend a warm welcome to manager Derek McInnes, the directors, players, guests and fans of the Dons to Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park this afternoon. I would also like to welcome our partners McEwan Fraser Legal, Kilmac, Scott Fyffe Motors, Crown Engineering, Dr. Noodles and digital media partner Blue2 to the ground this afternoon.
Frustration. We are all feeling it. Seasons like this feels like everything is against you…injuries, on-field decisions, SFA inconsistencies, etc. These are not excuses, but it does make you ask the question: Why do we do what we do? Why do we go to the games? Why do we support this team? When we came to Dundee, we were told that the state of affairs within Scottish football was, “No one likes us, we don't care.” We took this this with a grain of salt, but still today - in some cases - it still seems ring true.
So why do we do what we do, and how? We trust that in everything we do, our belief is to challenge the existing state of affairs. We believe in accelerative thinking, exceeding historic boundaries, and ultimately achieving sustained excellence. How we do this is by providing a stable and safe platform for individuals to challenge their boundaries, push their limits and realize their potential. This is the fundamental basis of how we run the organization. Through the implementation of this belief the Club is stronger in every department. We have increased revenue streams and introduced new ones. The media department is recognized as one of the best in the country. The Academy is strong, stable, and the first young group of players that we brought in are challenging for first team football. We raise thousands of pounds for our charity partners each year. All departments are in much better shape than when we arrived. Any and all funds that are beyond the budget and reported losses are spent solely on the football department. Yet we are still frustrated. We have brought in three managers. Two with little experience, backing them based on how we do things, providing a stable and safe platform. We desperately wanted them to both to succeed but for various reasons they ultimately did not. Now we have Jim at the helm. Much more experience and the data shows that he is the best person to lead Dundee. We have and will continue to provide him and the players the platform to be successful. It is frustrating right now, but we believe that positively supporting is the only way to get through this season safely. It is difficult to do, but we are the only ones that can do it. We are Dundee Football Club: No one likes us, and we don't care.
Thank you to all who support the Club unconditionally each week, home and away, especially during these frustrating times while we continue to build our exceptional Club. Let’s raise our voices for the next 90 minutes and carry our team to a positive result. COME ON DUNDEE!!

You have created absolutely f**k all in the first half and look almost as bad as us. No striker in the world would have made a difference to you there.

What a load of shit.

1 player who runs in behind would have changed the whole game.  Everything was pedestrian and back to goal.

anyway, keep praying for a miracle.

What a load of shit, you didn't have a single player willing to play that sort of ball.

What is it with Stewart and McGinn by the way? They don't seem to have any sort of connection.  On paper, they are probably the players one would want on each side of the pitch running at teams. Stewart looked a shadow of the player he was at Dens and indeed, Rugby Park just constantly throwing himself to the ground instead of running rings round defenders which were as you say, pedestrian. Plus, we have probably the most static defence in the league and there was zero movement from either.

Today was the type of defence that McGinn usually thrives on, he just didn't turn up.

Aberdeen were distinctly average today, created little (Until we gave up as our team does with embarrassing regularity). I'm not for one second suggesting that's the norm for you as you lot wouldn't be where you are in the league if it were.

A better version of Andrew Nelson wouldn't have been the difference maker if you had it. The difference maker would have been if McGinn and Stewart looked even remotely interested and if they were, you could have pushed your previous 0-7 score close.

Surely better Dundee stay up than fuckin accies anyway.

i have to agree with the Dundee poster who said Cosgrove was poor. A penalty and a tap in glosses over things.

thought the penalty was a get out of jail card as we weren’t creating until then. Once 1 nil up things opened up a bit and players relax when in the lead and ran out worthy winners.

have to say Stevie may actually did quite well when he came on. (Struggled to say that!)

As for Dundee, they weren’t that bad. Few tidy players in midfield. Ok at the back and left back but poor at right back and upfront. If I were a Dee I’d be wanting Miller on for much longer.

Funny how  people see things completely differently.

First half in control of the ball but everything back to goal and slow. Very, very easy to defend.

If 1 player has pace and makes the runs in behind, the defence has to change its whole mindset and all of a sudden it’s easier for the ball players to get space and slide in passes.

Granted Stewart and Mcginn (and McLennan) weren’t having good games but 1 player with a different dimension would change things big time. It’s not rocket science.

Also doesn’t help Mackay Stevens is injured.

Any manager with even the slightest clue about introducing youngsters into first team football knows that they gradually get more and more action through substitute appearances against tiring players until they're up to speed. Poor Callum Moore was on a hiding to nothing when McIntyre threw him in at the deep end today. As soon as he gave away that penalty it reminded me of McCann's ludicrous decision to hand Dan Jeffries his debut against Accies in a high pressure game last season, shortly before giving away a penalty.

It takes some doing to fail to meet most Dundee fan's incredibly low expectations when he was appointed but he's somehow managed it. The only thing the c**t can manage.

He will be using Moore as the fall guy in his 'See, I just proved to you we are better with Woods' argument.

Arsehole.

Honestly why do we take McGinn off? Get Stewart to f**k

I thought Mcginn looked a bit jaded.  Played a fair bit of football recently and puts a lot of work in getting up and down out wide. As good defensively as he is in attack.

ps Stevie May did quite well when he came on!

Whether anyone agrees with it or not, the reason that McGinn was taken off is that Derek McInnes feels that he can’t play three full matches in a week. Add to that, that we were one nil up at the time, and we have a semi final to play next Sunday where we need as many of our best players on the pitch as possible. Stevie May did do well, and I fancy him for his first goal in around five and a half years at Hampden next week.

Don't see much wrong with that other than the ridiculous blind faith in McIntyre tbh. He's an American and rich Americans do tend to give themselves pats on their own backs more than we Scots do.

You don't see much wrong with the phrase "accelerative thinking" and the vomit of management buzzwords immediately after it?

Nor with the transparent attempt to create a seige mentality?

Dundee are far too meh to be deploying "no-one likes us and we don't care".  Maybe the fermers don't, but even your city rivals can't muster a very strong dislike.

I assume all clubs are now reporting season tickets as part of attendance now? Now way was that a 6.5k crowd yesterday

Unfortunately, all clubs following the lead of Celtic and Hearts. Celtic having actual crowds of around 30,000 and reporting 59,000 and Hearts reporting 18,000 when in reality there were about 11,000 there.

Don't talk pish. We grate on every single United fan. As is shown when they lose against the likes of Alloa yet still crop up here to try and give it the big ane.

St Johnstone fans are just middle of the field nobodies who want friends so try and noise up anybody that will give them attention. Always the last ones picked for 5's.

TELT YE!!

Glad we got the win, much needed and at this stage in the season, three points is all we can ask for. Keeps the momentum up for next weekend. The real quiz.

No Shinnie so god knows how we’ll do. How did Gleeson look when he came on?
