All things Rangers and Celtic are capable of doing. Ajax can spend €20mill on players because their focus on selling players at the right time allows them to. The old firm cling on to players too long because they are arrogant enough to think they should be topnof the food chain. Why would fans pay for tickets if their own manager thinks they have no chance? makes sense but i guess, assuming he knows what he's doing, its i) a bit of a dig at not getting in several players he perhaps wanted and had to go for 3rd/4th choice targets, ii) trying to ease the pressure on the players for the rest of the group stage, or more simply an old fashioned "go on, prove me wrong" challenge to the players and/or iii) he's already seen enough to know they're not going to win a single game in the group and he's just getting in front of it. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
