Yeah, you're reading FAR too much into this to be honest. I understand why the referee gave a yellow but he's got it 100% wrong, it's not a foul. I'm not uncomfortable with the use of the word scandalous to be honest in its general usage. It's one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while. You're right though, it's not literally scandalous.
