Would you say that those players had no talent? You can’t compare that. Kids played in the street then, the game has moved on but some Scottish fans prefer blood and thunder rather than football. Nothing wrong with that but imo aggressive football isn’t the future. It’s stuck in the 70’s.

It’s stuck in the 70’s. The 70s were good for Scottish football. The national team, filled with quality players, qualified for two World Cups. Our domestic teams were competitive in European competitions too. If only we had the likes of Dalglish, Lorimer, Jordan, Gemmill, McGrain etc now. If they played blood and thunder or aggressive football, I'll be happy to be stuck with it.
Scary Bear
You literally made the comparison now are peddling some nonsense about a 100 year head start. Are attendances in Scotland even bad? No, they aren’t. So it is stupid. Do you expect towns the side of Cowdenbeath, Brechin, Annan to draw massive crowds? It’s all about context - something you aren’t grasping.Look, away and take your defence of lower league Scottish football to the League One of Two forums.

CaspianChris
Japanese commentary would be highly amusing given that no one would understand a single word . Unless in the very unlikely situation anyone understands the language. Spanish commentary for Argentina may well be understood by some if the took Spanish language classesat least.

Tayside would be a decent idea, group games at the Angus grounds then you have the Dundee grounds and St Johnstone for the semis and that They've sold 1m tickets for the 52 matches so far and that's going to go up during the tournament. They'd sold fewer by this point at the last WWC and they ended up with 1.3m. So Scotland is too small for this. We bid for Euro 17 but missed out to the Netherlands. We didn't bid for Euro 21, England got that though there's a suggestion that Scotland sat out to get England's support next time. The average attendance at Euro 17 was 8,000 (total 250,000), though the home team's matches all sold out, nearly 30k for the semi and final. It's probably the biggest football tournament we could host alone now.

Because we're not a petrochemical dictatorship that can use and dispose of Yemeni and Somali near-slave labour, and bribe everyone on the FIFA Executive. We have democracy and laws and stuff.

You've got the 'big 4' grounds for bigger matches. Pittodrie, Tynecastle, Easter Road and Rugby Park would be perfectly suitable for the group stages though. None of the games so far, barring the home side have seen crowds too big for Rugby Park. France is using 9 grounds with total capacity 297,100. The eight stadia mentioned above have a larger total than that - 309,500. Edited June 9, 2019 by Gordon EF
