Much the same way as he didn’t back remain/leave til the last kick of the ball, and the Heseltine quote about Johnson being ‘very good at seeing which way people are moving, running to the front of that group and claiming it was all his idea’. I think much like Trump, they’ll have to get it thru to him that *he’s* going to be seen as the loser - hence there being such focus over here on things like Brian Kemp beating Trump-endorsed David Perdue in the GA GOP primaries yesterday - if that can be gotten thru to him at all. I said ‘step down’. He will be seen as an electoral liability and will be told that if he doesn’t go voluntarily then there will be a challenge. Just as he doesn’t give a f**k about the Tory Party they don’t give a f**k about him, they will self preserve.
Antlion
He’s safe for now - they’re riding it out. How can you tell? Because the lowest on the totem pole, Douglas Ross, has received his orders to defend, defend, defend. Once the message has passed all the way down to Ross that dear old Boris is to be saved, you know the decision far higher up has been made.
Cosmic Joe
What a deplorable specimen of a human being Johnson is. How can anyone bring themself to vote for that cretin? He'll get what he deserves eventually. -

Bring. It. On. Absolutely. The best chance to be rid of the scum is if they keep him in place, disgraced.

He deserves to have his c**t kicked by people that couldn’t say goodbye to loved ones during the pandemic while he was having leaving parties under the guise of “leadership”.

A history of mysognistic, racist and xenophobic comments. His reward is taking up the highest office in the land. He is absolute teflon.

Mark Connolly
I'm starting to understand why they didn't consider any of these gatherings as "parties". When you're getting shitfaced at work every day, it must be hard to keep up with what's going on

People like myself are not too much bothered as to who is PM as long as we get a conservative leaning government with as little socialism as possible. Aye, that's pretty much how I see it. I vote for the policies before the person.

Yes he's safe for now but wait until all the crazy headlines stop and folk realise what has he actually achieved? One of the biggest majorities in a long time and he's basically done nothing practical. Yes he's driven a cart and horse through the constitution but destruction is easy, he's basically delivered nothing.

Not because of the U.K. governments response but rather because all the shit can be blamed on a totally unprecedented global pandemic which has had a huge economic impact. Without COVID Johnson would have been totally exposed.
BFTD
Don't forget, he got Brexit done. Unless he's outed as a massive paedophile* in the decades to come, he'll receive a state funeral and fawning press attention for that reason alone. Doesn't matter how big a c**t his government made of it, or what kind of state England is in by that point. * even then, maybe people will be back to being inured to the unveiling of high-profile sex offenders.

I keep hearing that Brexit is "done". Presumably this is one of those "except for viewers in Northern Ireland" situations?
