I reckon there’s a certain group of the Oxbridge/Eton elite who genuinely think that, having bought their educations and bought into the idea of their own superiority, they don’t need to do even basic research. They know it all. They are the best. Why should one of their rank and class have to do even basic research into the political situations of inferior countries?
