Cough there but not bad. Head still feels wooshy and occasionally off balance even when sitting down. Moving eyes from side to side hurts, especially when my head is turned. Trying not to do too much of that tbh. Still feel sensitive to temperature and am generally quite clammy. Wary of any perceived improvements since yesterday started off with small improvements..... Can I have your widescreen TV while you're not using it? Glad you're starting to feel better.

Latest news articles seem to be that the government are in discussions with Amazon about distributing it.

I've just ordered some disposable gloves from Toolstation to collect for similar purposes, thankfully I've got a pair left for the transaction. Cardboard is supposed to be fairly safe though as it absorbs the virus, unlike hard surfaces that can transfer it.
superbigal
I know my post will evaporate in 10 minutes. Just read the McDonalds statement.Pay staff in full till april. The payy staff 80% as per govt grant.Correct me if I'm wrong.I thought employers had to pay full wages with an 80% subsidy. If not many will just be closing that were shit businesses as opposed to genuine health reasons.

I won't lie, I've been very tempted by the thought of grabbing one last double cheeseburger. Probably sold out by now though. That said, from my offshore experiences, I've learned that I no longer miss things when I can't just go out and buy them on demand (after a couple of days anyway). A beer in my fridge has a life expectancy of 48 hours max, but I don't miss it at all where even cola or chocolate is limited to a bond that's only open for 20-30 mins per shift. Straight to the airport pub once back onshore though, simply because it has been the forbidden fruit, and I can. Grim stuff !!!

Funny that. This is silly. From now until the end of time people will take things more seriously the larger the direct impact is on themselves. This is human nature and not a bad thing. There is constant misery out there if you look hard enough, you simply can't get emotionally affected by all of it or you go mad. and FWIW I am happy to still make jokes. It's how we get through shite like this.

I assume you have a very reliable source before spreading this? 1 hour ago, ScottishZizou said: You seem to be getting a lot of greenies for this but i cannot get on board. So its go outisde if you can outsmart the system and manipulate a plan. Lets say the entire population did this, then it quite simply wouldnt work. Then the amount of people at said estate would be double or triple. Or is it only certain families that should be allowed to do this who know where the quiet places are? Its the classic one rule for you but not for others. Yes, chances are your little trip made no difference but thats not the bloody point. Its a societal thing and if we as a society all take these small risks it mounts up and ultimately it is selfish entitled behaviour thinking you are above the rules. How many deaths as a result of people going outside and spreading this would it take or a percentage chance that your actions contribute to the spread would it take for you to just stay inside? Shrill nonsense. Sure you can always reduce risks further but when it's from negligible to even more negligible what's the point? You are criticising someone who has thought about and mitigated the risks, not "outsmarted the system"
jamamafegan
I’m on annual leave this week. My plan for my first day off was to go to Glenshee for a hike and do some photography, however the longer time went on the less and less comfortable I felt about doing so - even though I’d be able to have my day out without coming into contact with anyone. Advice was updated this morning from the Scottish Mountaineering Association (I think it was them, something to that effect) who said do not go to the mountains. So that’s that.Instead I’ve been out in my car all day, driving around local countryside. I’m about to get out for a walk. I’ve got my food, water and everything else I need and won’t need to go anywhere near anyone. In the very unlikely circumstances that I do cross paths with someone I will be going nowhere near them.Maybe I’ve made an “unnecessary journey” today by driving around. But if I didn’t get in my car today and instead walked to the nearest park or green space then I’d almost certainly have come into close contact with someone.I think the “stay at home” brigade need to wind their necks in and stop attacking sensible folk for wanting to go out for fresh air. If you want to get angry at people, get angry at the arseholes who went to the pub last night or the ones who are down the local park mingling together and behaving as if everything’s fine. The official government advice does NOT say to stay indoors. These people who are shouting at others for daring to step foot outside are making their own rules up.

So the advice of specialists in other countries is wrong, and the advice in this one is correct? Everyone advising to stay at home completely in other countries “don’t know what they’re talking about”? @GordonS are you going to respond to this and explain why the UK advice is correct and why the advice in other countries (several of whom have surprisingly have made a far better job of containing the spread than us) is coming from people who “don’t know what they’re talking about”?

Is that available to stream anywhere? (Also, is King of the Hill available anywhere?) Hurricane Neddy was on Channel 4 over the weekend, great episode. Now that everyone is staying at home: what you watching? I've got a one-year-old to look after so it's been tricky to watch as much stuff as I'd like, but I've mapped out my short-term TV bingeing. Currently got Better Call Saul (series 4), Arrested Development (series 5), Stranger Things (series 1) and Hunters (series 1) on the go. Downloaded four films too: Joker, 1917, Jojo Rabbit and The Peanut Butter Falcon. Get the recommendations in. When i ask them wtf you doing they say "Oh i just needed to nip out or a few things" despite being in the shops yesterday. The older generation seem to have no interest in isolating.
