DeeTillEhDeh
Iโve given up watch the news. The MSM are not great at best of times but have sunk to a new low during this crisis with their lack of scrutiny. As other have said a couple of weeks ago Italy and France were being portrayed as disaster areas yet the equivalent death rate in the UK is being reported completely differently. ETA also how the government is getting away with the same bullshit about PPE and ventilators every day virtually unchallenged is appalling. ย It's always telling how they report the Scottish figures - if there is a drop in the daily figure they report the aggregate figure - if the daily figure is much higher they report that.ย
Gaz
LOL at anyone who thinks this will lead to any kind of meaningful change in how the vast, vast majority of theย media report on the establishment. Not a good look for The Party Of Business. The lockdown is less than three weeks old. ย Businesses that are going bust due to three weeks of inactivity must be in a perilous state to start with. Many, and probably most, small business owners will have taken money out over the years, maybe they should try putting some of it back in. -

Will there be the odd casualty who are in an unusual situation? ย Probably. ย Will there be businesses who were struggling anyway and are pushed over the edge? ย Very likely but if it wasnโt this that caused it it would have been something else. -

pandarilla
Most of the businesses going bust will be small businesses, of which the Tories don't give a shit about. This just isn't true. Their electoral success over the years has been built on those votes, and they've been excellent at gaining them (with the exception of the late 90s and 00s when Blair moved into their territory).Small business owners quite often look up and want to be big business owners. The tories have always looked out for those folk, whilst sucking right up to the super rich behind closed doors. -
