Why are students going to be allowed on campus if there's such worry about the return of universities? Absolutely no reason at all their lectures can't be delivered remotely.

A complete remote learning strategy is a setup for a lack of engagement and an enormous number of dropouts. There are many practical subjects that don't work on a lecture-tutorial-essay-exam cycle. Having students in on a reduced basis for focused work is a much better option to have but I think that's fairly high up the list of activities that could get binned.

It's almost as if you haven't paid attention to the fact that WFH has already been the default option in Scotland for six months and folk were punted into shielding for three while being replaced no bother. So all this actually means in practice is no more completely unnecessary and risky restaurant or pub trips for vulnerable groups. 

An entirely sensible, fact-based response for a better Scotland then.

The only people who were shielded in Scotland were chosen for medical reasons, not age. The majority of workers aren't in office jobs that they can do just as easily from the sofa.

If everyone with a specific medical condition can be punted into shielding then every old person can on account of increased risk as well.

It seems daft to me that The Science allows children aged 4-17 to be shoved into schools risk free with no distancing and zero transmission, but we can't take an age based approach to other activities when there is a clear increased risk for the elderly should they catch the virus.
