Wave a bit of furlough money in front of her and she changes course completely. Of course it will suit the work shy and cement her popularity amongst them. When did she announce this lockdown as she certainly hasn't on her tv address just now. That's in your head. She has just stated she will not be moving away from the new tier system. And you believe her, do you? She’ll be putting us back into lockdown.

Aufc
I voted no in the Independence referendum back in 2014, not because I don’t want us to be independent, but because I felt we wouldn’t have been able to manage on our own and wasn’t convinced about the SNP party leading us into the unknown. The past few years I’ve sometimes regretted the decision but this whole furlough fiasco is the final straw for me. Get us out this ‘Union’. What a fucking shambles. Was literally away to post similar. As a no voter back then and a yes voter now, i genuinely don’t know how anyone could consider staying in the union
Billy Jean King
And you believe her, do you? She’ll be putting us back into lockdown.Yet even DRoss states that the SG is being corralled into that position by a ridiculous piece of intransigence by the WM Clown troop. As I said earlier it's a 100% rock and a hard place scenario.

My vote goes to Patel, mind - if only because that cúnt Rees-Smug has been keeping out of the limelight recently, thereby not continually feeding the flames of my disdain. Yeah, Patel. She'll do. Make it so. Has Iain Duncan Smith had it yet? I specifically excluded the undead from my selection process.

It doesn't because its funding available to the whole of the UK for a set period it just tough luck if a lockdown doesn't coincide with the harshest of lockdowns. i.e. you could furlough your staff even if you're in Tier 1 in Scotland and meet whatever restrictions the UKg have in place.
superbigal
How does furlough tie into Barnet? It doesn't thats the point. Furlough is UK wide and administered by hmrc. I'm actually unsure how the Welsh are paying for their lockdown. Putting the bad 4 into tier 4 was forecast to be impossible as the money for basic restrictions would run out funding full shutdown in a couple of weeks.

The contradiction between reality and this claim rather suggests that the 'we couldn't afford tier 4' line is in fact utter bullshit.

Popular Post John MacLean
Regardless of what your own individual politics are it must be crystal clear that the SG are being pushed into a corner here and I can't see a reason why other than Westminster playing politics and trying to undermine the devolved governments. What a choice to be given/gamble to take: Lockdown now because the furlough scheme has been extended for a month because of rising infection rates in England while new tighter restrictions haven't had a chance to have an impact and/or there is no requirement for a full Scotland wide Lockdown at present Wait until infection rates dictate the need for a full Scotland Lockdown with no guarantee that the furlough scheme will be in place at that indeterminate time It is utterly baffling that devolved governments are being put in the position of having to make that choice. If the furlough scheme is to be extended for a month then there should be no time limit on it. It should be there for the devolved governments to access at a time when they have a clear need of it.
Granny Danger
Looks like non-essential businesses in England might still be working. A “lockdown” that doesn’t include businesses, schools and universities is not a lockdown. I do not think it will have the desired effect.
