Billy Jean King
Total UK PCR test capacity is about 815,000 btw... who wants to take a punt on peak case rates and positivity rate for Omicron, and when that will occur?I was posting about this yesterday. Talk of 150-200k plus a day cases is impossible, we just dont have the testing capacity to reach those figs unless somehow the % positive figure absolutely sky rockets.

I guess they must count the tests differently If you take that figure it's 5.4% Scroll down for PCR tests. Think the 1.6Million is all registered tests including LFTs.

Try Beauly or Black Isle. My partner is in her thirties and just arranged a booster appointment for Tuesday.
scottsdad
This graph lags by a week or so, but for me this is a clearer indication of the prevalence of the virus more widely than the headline "cases" number. Be interesting to see how much Omicron pushes this up by.

Before I got that appointment, I was scraping the barrel and looking for appointments in Fortrose and Strathpeffer. Shudder

Utterly shit that the minority wins again. Covid is here to stay, we either learn to live with it and enjoy ourselves or we stay locked indoors. Things look grim and you've got to ask yourself why after the vaccine coverage Scotland has. Another kick in the baws for those of us with stress/anxiety/depression As someone who struggles with anxiety on a daily basis. My anxiety is through the roof at the moment with the latest news.

As said in here; vulnerable, elderly, unwell folk may be best advised to self- shield as that’s just normal common sense. Why the entire country is having fear and restrictions launched at us from all sides, makes neither any sense nor health/ societal benefit. Whatever is going to happen next Saturday with Omicron there's absolutely nothing that can be done about it now. It's already "baked in" to use the popular phrase. If it's going to go ballistic the PHS message to avoid Christmas parties that triggered this panic will be doing very little to stop it seeing as everything else is still allowed and lots of people are just carrying on their lives as normal.

Place was packed out, no masks in sight and an endless array of crowd-surfers gave us a lovely wee glimpse of normality before it got snatched away again.

Seems like bands/singers are being guilt tripped into making these descions by the "stay safe" brigade. Gigs/football etc is not "banned" by the Govt, yet it seems like people are virtue signalling to try and get acts to make the descion.
