Monday 20th now surpassed the peak of the 15th.

We are 3½ weeks in, and we have 24 people in total having been admitted to hospital (with no indication how many are still there) who have tested positive for it.

It seems to me it's unlikely to be pressurising the NHS any time soon.

Granny Danger is currently across multiple threads on the forum, shrieking about how folk in the covid thread are claiming the SNP is finished.

Treating a political party like your football team, but when you were 14, has some fairly odd consequences.

The most depressing time of the year, the period after Hogmanay. What are we going to see? Bevvying to excess at home again? Folk piling into house parties not giving a fcuk again? Neighbours calling the cops? An increase in domestic violence? Hospitality businesses in real trouble again? Folk avoiding towns and city centres again? Culture and music gigs thrown onto the scrapheap again? Fitba’ sacrificed? Young folk, who the government want to take the vaccines telling the government ‘Fcuk you’?

Overhead gantries replacing ‘is your car ready for winter’ with ‘get your booster’? Well, I can confirm this one.

Shameful. Fcukers the lot of them in their Edinburgh hidey hole.

"Meet outdoors if possible"

"Wear a mask you selfish c***" (I might have misread that one.)

Astounded to see an SNP politician sneering and complaining about football fans exercising a right to free speech? He goes on to further suggest that disagreeing with the government shouldnt be allowed, that for me is quite a dark path.

Stephen’s tweets are being absolutely criticised by everyone it seems.

Correct me if I’m wrong here but is yer man Flynn not incorrect here

I thought in Scotland to enter the stadium it was vaccine passport only to show you are double jabbed  ?

thought negative lateral flow entry was only a requirement down in England ?

What crime has been committed here?

You would imagine her home address is probably protected in some way it is a private residence after all.

Use of Check In Scotland has plunged. Can't say this news is a massive surprise.

Not been promoted in ages and I guess when folk don't actually ask it's easy to forget.

Last place that demanded a check-in before entry was Dover football club which was odd as it was an outdoor terrace.

Bold bit is me down to a tee. Pre-Covid I was sure the SNP aligned closely to my general views and represented me, and was desperate for independence. Now the idea of them being in charge is terrifying. People always make the ‘you can vote someone else in’ point, and it’s true, but after independence is achieved I’m not in any way convinced that the SNP will disappear the way some people claim they will. They simply can’t be afforded any more power after showing their true colours the last 22 months.

There is no way they will fold their tents and disappear. They have their noses firmly in the trough and will not be departing for at least 5 years after Inde is granted.  Can you honestly expect the idiot that is Swinney to participate in the Independence negotiations with any degree of success.

Exactly correct and who are at the forefront of of the nanny state and cancel culture?

Why, the left of course and in Scotland, you’re talking SNP.

Its only the Brexiteer types from the right that are pushing back against it.

Meanwhile once again our own daily case numbers plateaued for the fifth day in a row. Looks like Omicron can't go any further up.

Wow, could be as soon as early next week we could see the tumble start, despite everyone meeting up over Christmas.

Very fair point about Scottish figures and current plateau.

Can't say the same about overall UK figures (driven by English numbers). Cases are certainly on the increase in England. Hospital numbers in England up by just over a thousand (17%) since  the beginning of December (5892 on 1st to 6902 on 21st December).

That said I'm absolutely with those who don't think our health service will be overhwelmed, just making a point re the differences between Scotland and England at this time.

Got my booster yesterday evening and as of half an hour ago I've developed the weird taste metallic-like taste that I usually get whenever an achy cold-like feeling is in the pipeline.  <_<

Eta: I now taste mint as well, although there's a chance that might relate to the half packet of polos I just demolished.

The idea of calling a party is quite funny but I think the person may have quoted her private address. That crosses a line for me TBH.

Yep, that's out of order.

I'm sure many in the local area know where she lives, but you can't have it broadcast to all and sundry (bearing in mind Facebook's reach is global). Needlessly puts the FM in danger.

Bute House instead? fire away with your joke event - that's a matter of public record.
