MONKMAN
Was speaking to the medic at my work today (North Sea oil platform), who’s informed me that the current plan if anyone is suspected of carrying the virus is we go into complete lockdown. Onshore have mobilised a crisis team incase any of the installations are affected, who’ve simulated the scenarios modelled on infection rates etc. They’re saying it could take up to 90 days from first case for the platform to be clear! Nobody on or off unless they’re condition becomes critical, at which point it’ll be the coastguard or airforce that comes to collect said casualty. I can’t even begin to explain how furious I’d be in those circumstances. Saying that, if it happened on my next leave, I’d be fucking delighted.

Daft question but would you still get paid for being on the Rig even if you aren't working? If so that sounds like Heaven to me.

mathematics
I gave blood today. Was giving the nurse my amazing patter and asking about the effects the virus has had on her workload. She says there’s been no difference, yet, but two fucking space cadets had been in earlier to give blood, having just come back from Rome. They were hunted sharpish.

Yes, very well paid considering I’d be sitting about doing absolutely nothing. That said, I’d rather watch my granny get a kicking than ever find myself in the situation of being stuck here for 90 days. 10 minutes ago, Bairnardo said: f**k those p***ksThey would be working. Fratelli
A pal of mine who's working on some sort of government-involved project management contract was briefed today that they expect it to take 16 weeks for things to go back to normal. Not sure what that's based on and it seems a bit excessive but i'd assume it's just worst case scenario stuff. Either way, if things are worrying just now f**k knows how bad it'll be in 3 months.
