You appear to have missed the word "recorded" before "cases".
You're not alone in this, but all these graphs do nothing more than reinforce Mark Twain's*  statement about statistics.
I am looking around me day to day, and I am seeing firsthand the effects of our nation's ill-preparedness for this situation*, and their horribly reactive response throughout the crisis. I am also hearing from friends in the NHS who are walking shells, frazzled beyond emotional reponse by the conditions they're working in. I am seeing the shortening of tempers, the paranoia and suspicion in the supermarkets, the lessening of patience with children after weeks of lockdown. I am thankfully not seeing, but am sadly perfectly willing to believe the massive rises in domestic and child abuse. God alone knows the scale of the MH crisis we are building up.
This shitstorm is a long, long way from ending. People are dying, and will continue to die, because the elected Government of this country are absolutely fucking incompetent.
People are dying, and will continue to die, because that Government is beholden, not to the people, but to commercial enterprise.
People are dying, and will continue to die, because this country decided it was a good idea to hand over the care of our most vulnerable people to profiteers.
People are dying, and will continue to die, because they have abdicated their reponsibility to think for themselves and will blindly follow tablooid stories.
People are dying, and will continue to die, because they believe that restrictions and guidelines are for other people.
People, entirely innocent people, are dying and will continue to die depite following all guidelines because of all the above.
Still, good old Boris has another b*****d, the EPL are planning to restart and at least one old fucker made it to 100, eh? Rule fucking Britannia!
*Some disagreements over the origin of the quote, but I like Twain.

You need to get out more.

When there was a shortage of ventilators Channel 4 missed a trick to do a Scrapheap Challenge special and get Dick Strawbridge to knock a couple up from old taxi parts.
Lisa Rogers is rather MILFY these days so that could have been a morale boost for the nation too.
Just don't involve that bint on the BBC who rakes about skips and looks like Kevin Kilbane in drag.

Relaxing of the lockdown from Monday announced in Malaysia today. Quite out of the blue.

Government quite clear that they're not sure how this will go, but basically the country can't afford to go on like this.

Most businesses will be allowed to reopen, including restaurants (most pubs here are restaurants, so it'll be interesting to see if they open) with strict customer registering in case they have to be traced later and distancing. Outdoor exercise will be allowed again from Monday as well.

"Among businesses which are not allowed to reopen, he said, are cinemas, karaoke outlets, reflexology centres, entertainment outlets, night clubs, theme parks, Ramadan bazaar, Aidilfitri bazaar, sales carnival as well as all forms of conferences and exhibitions." -

I'll still be working from home. There's no reason for me not to for now. I'm lucky in that regard.

Malaysia currently has 6,002 official cases of Covid-19. Of those 6,002, 102 have died and 4,171 are registered as having recovered. New cases per day have not reached three figures since the 16th of April after being consistently between 100-200 for a month before that.

See how it goes, I suppose.

I think the General Lee was outside my house at 8pm tonight. Thankfully it drowned out the pots and pans. Got to count your blessings I suppose.

Thoughts and prayers to you and the rest of Hazzard County. Stay safe etc.

The hand clappers are like folk who give to charity and think it’s important that others know they give to charity.

Doubtless the same c***s who are straight onto Facebook to congratulate themselves and "their" streets for showing appropriate levels of support, and usually going onto say "oh but i didn't hear much clapping coming from...."

Presumably they'll morph into the "Where's your poppy?" brigade come October/November.

Get the people at Robot Wars involved they could invent a ventilator that tips you out the bed, through a hole in the floor when the time is appropriate.

Quote

The scarcely believable scenario took place in the Gironde department when three men entered the shop.

While two engaged the owner in a talk about buying wine, the third dipped his hand into the till to take the cash.

He was spotted by the shopkeeper who gave chase when the three fled.

Unable to catch the three, the shopkeeper returned to call the gendarmes, and found the attestation on the floor. It was correctly filled out (except for motive of thieving not being recognised as an authorised reason for leaving home) and the law officers were able to arrest the three by going to the address on the attestation de sortie dérogatoire form.

Eh, no.

"It is understood that it will not be set alight, however.

In a statement, a Loyalist Corcrain Redmanville Bonfire spokesman said: "This is our respect to the NHS. The bonfire is not happening this year due to the ongoing pandemic so we built this instead."

There's a bit of that, no doubt. Charity giving should be as anonymous as possible imo, but that's just me.

Fair play to this clapping shite - it's taken only 4 weeks to go full blown "look at me", it took Remembrance Day all of 80 + years.

Looking forward to the applause for accountants. It will make me feel so appreciated.

If you asked an accountant how long you should applaud them they’d tell you they would need to work it out.

Then charge you for their time.
