You can teach your kids right and wrong and you can train dogs to do things.  Easy.

If it's so easy, why do schools need behaviour management systems?

Could it be - perhaps - that kids don't always do what they've been asked?

No. My next comment is going to go down like a storm.

I wonder how many bites you’ll get.

Let's have some fun.

2m has been recognised as the space to maintain between people to avoid getting the virus.

Do you agree?

No, it's the maximum practical limit, it just reduces the chances of transfer. 10 metres would be better.

Obviously not, else it would be 2m everywhere.

In the US, for example, its 6 feet. 6 feet isn't 2m.

That's a woman you're talking about.

I would have to disagree.

Like our dear Throbber has mentioned, what about in vans?

Maximum practicable, with other mitigatuons in place. Avoid multi occupancy, minimise multi occupancy, use PPE. In that order.

Minimise contact, maximise distance should be the mantra. Putting a number on it is stupid.

Make actual requirements of workplaces to ensure sensible space is available.
And get water tight (so to speak) cleaning regimes.

We can clean the f**k out of this country, and that'll help reduce the spread too.

Nothing is perfect, but with all these measures in place we can get out of the lockdown quickly...once we get the bloody testing operation up to speed.

This is believable.
I would guess that our lockdown has involved many multiples more of social contact time than the stricter versions on the continent.
They huge variations in the % previously infected by different studies suggests it's as accurate as the R rate.

Any one got an answer for how to socially distance in a van?

Everyone by a window sticks their head out of it, including the driver. Or you could remove the windscreen so all the bugs blow away.

Correct. Where a van is needed, use other methods to minimise risk.

Shite.

You are at it.

No. See above. Apply basic principles of risk assessment and mitigation..

The answer isnt blanket lockdown. If I am wrong I dont have a problem with that, but you havent proved it so, and blanket policy IMO is damaging so we need the middle ground. We need the adult conversation.

We should know the status of every poster in that respect so we can view their posts accordingly.

I think it's obvious that folk who dinnae hae bairns should look efter other folks bairns. Easy peasy

I wouldn't worry about it. A few weeks ago yon Granny responded to me asking him to justify why both he and his wife going to the shops was 'essential' travel by accusing me of making up my wife and kids.

That's where I'm heading. At least we speak the same language.

The government guidance says social distancing should be followed at work where reasonably possible, so you can be within 2m of a colleague (eg sitting in a van) without breaking the law.
