ICTChris
I bet there has been loads of furlough fraud. I’m sure it’s been “priced in” though.

US buys up world stock of key Covid-19 drug remdesivir No other country will be able to buy remdesivir, which can help recovery from Covid-19, for next three months at least https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/30/us-buys-up-world-stock-of-key-covid-19-drug The US has bought up virtually all the stocks for the next three months of one of the two drugs proven to work against Covid-19, leaving none for the UK, Europe or most of the rest of the world. Buying up the world’s supply of remdesivir is not just a reaction to the increasing spread and death toll. The US has taken an “America first” attitude throughout the global pandemic. Seen that this morning, its made by a US company apparently and whilst companies in Europe/ EU can make it they are unable to due to the patents...given it's a global pandemic it would be good for the company to allow limited batches to be made in the EU to order for other countries but as money rules all i'm sure they'll resist any attempts. Seems bad that something so important can be monopolised by a single purchaser
dirty dingus
This looks like an interesting programme trying to get to the bottom of why the pandemic in the UK has been so bad. Radio 4 - 9am https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000kfpy

We'll see tomorrow but you can sense it. Are you getting mixed up with the horse racing from Leicester?
PWL
Have been cycling to the office but had to take the train for the first time since lockdown today. Peak time service on the Stirling to Queen Street line yet only 12 folk on board. More importantly, every single person had a mask on. A train service with 12 people using it is not financially viable -

They've probably suspected all along that the English figures are bogus, but without any proof they've probably just had to suck it up and wait for the story to inevitably come out several weeks or months down the line. I've no doubt the Scottish government have occasionally been slightly economical with the truth too, but nowhere near to the same extent. Surely the biggest porky was the then CMO Catherine Calderwood saying that there were 'clear medical reasons' why Charlie Windsor, his wife and presumably his entourage were tested for the virus.

mizfit
Aberdeen confirming a player has now tested positive. Slightly concerning news that.
Billy Jean King
Aberdeen confirming a player has now tested positive. Slightly concerning news that. Odds on that given the numbers ??? Or is it still more prevalent than the authorities think and wider scale testing would show that to be the case.

DeeTillEhDeh
There was horse racing at Leicester last night which I found fucking absurdThe racecourse is in Oadby - this is on the very edge of the lockdown area - it may well be outside the lockdown area.

Can only think it would be to make trends make sense by not introducing new data sets, but the information was clearly being withheld from people who urgently needed to know. More likely it was Boris and Cummings wanting to divert attention from the utter mess they've made and go on about kicking off an FDR boom.
