effeffsee_the2nd
Was thinking, what Covid norms would stay once there is a vaccine and things are getting back to normal? Will wearing face coverings in public transport be permanent? Hand sanitising stations in every business from shops to pubs/restaurants? Probably some form of working from home be it part time or voluntary. The end of businesses sending staff on expensive jolly boys outings disguised as business trips overseas when they can just do it on skype. Some people choosing to wear masks after it’s no longer mandatory When someone calls in to work with flu like symptoms they will be told to stay off rather than the old way of “ theres f**k all wrong wi ye just get in here” mentality

The whole fleck-spittled fury about not being able to access a test is being driven by those who just want a negative Covid result so that they can immediately go back to work/punt their wean to school/pop round to the care home and 'only' give everyone the cold or flu instead. Not even a global pandemic has diminished the Typhoid Mary mindset of the great British moron public.
Forest_Fifer
Sweden had voluntary restrictions that were well adhered to. You know that though. Given the amount of cry babies losing their mind at being asked to stick a mask on in Home Bargains, I'm not entirely sure voluntary restrictions would work here. And they still did worse than the rest of Scandinavia

madwullie
1 hour ago, Chairman Mao said: They don’t wear masks in Sweden so you kinda destroy your own point. Shops, pubs, restaurants and primary schools all staged open. Well no. My point was that we wouldn't comply as the swedes did with the restrictions and guidance you don't think work meaning they would be utterly pointless over here. High schools and unis were shut. Gatherings were limited to 50 people. People were aaked to stay at home. A lot of them complied. Cases are right now rising alarmingly in Sweden and there's talk of local restrictions in Stockholm So restrictions after all, which presumably you are/were demanding they stop as they are useless, only makes things worse, pandemic ended last month etc. Edited September 27, 2020 by madwullie

vikingTON
Is there any actual, hard evidence for this 'oh but Swedes are so different from us because they allvoluntarily take precautions' claim? Best I can do at 445am. I've seen it laid out in better form though somewhere Plus a paper here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7455549/ That in true p&b style I've only skimmed and not properly read so probably destroys my own argument.
