Isn't Fallin a cesspool of social dystopia largely populated by Rangers fans?

I have “family” in Fallin and they’re the definition of fat bigoted slobs. The village live in a different world to the rest of the country and you’ll find the locals venturing on a day out to the nearby Morrison’s supermarket, generally waddling down the crisps and booze aisles as that is their normal diet. Most of the locals lack any self- awareness and will introduce themselves with funny handshakes and revere to lodge numbers etc, assuming everyone else will be “on their side”. If you aren’t one of them, you’ll be considered to kick with the other foot.

I see Trump has said that people should get vaccinated as it is safe. That might reduce the 50% of republican men who have said they won't get it, but not by a lot.
Qanon will probably say that it's not Trump talking, it's a reptilian clone.

Having a look at Fallin on Google Street view just now, what a shiteheap.  Also, gone @ the next village along being called Throsk 😂

Both of them are about ten minutes from where I live. I'll be driving through them this evening!

The entire area between Falkirk and Stirling is nothing but #staunch. You've also got Plean and Cowie. And Airth, but I'm biased towards Airth as my Dad and his family are from there.

Absolutely.

Because I'm bored I've started to compile a checklist of what a town needs to be considered #staunch.

  • A social club (miner's welfare, Labour club, lodge etc, British Legion. all acceptable)
  • A bowling green
  • The remains of one factory despite the last industry leaving the place in 1983
  • A pub made out of red brick or dirty render with a Tennents advertising sign
  • At least one huge flegpole in the garden of a prominent house on the main street

Any others?

Fallin also has one particular house between the miners club and the bowling club that has a union jack for curtains.

I will have the pleasure of passing it in less than 20 minutes after work.

A despicable village.

Some kind of snooker hall?  A bar branded as a "Sports bar"?

I mentioned on my thread that Fife Health board were holding back on St Andrews Uni.

They have released at statement which basically says naughty naughty.

On the recent COVID-19 cases linked to the University of St Andrews, NHS Fife Director of Public Health, Dona Milne, said:

"We are aware of a sharp increase in COVID-19 infections linked to the University and we are working closely with our colleagues at the University of St Andrews and Fife Council’s Environmental Health Service to limit the opportunity for further spread of the virus.

"Over a number of months we have seen relatively low levels of COVID-19 within the University, and this is testament to the actions of the vast majority of the student population who appear to have adhered to the public health measures in place to protect us all.

“It is clear, however, that in a small number of instances over recent weeks, the protocols in place have not been followed, particularly around gathering indoors, and it is very likely that the recent sudden increase in positive cases are a direct result of this.
