The R number for Omicron is estimated to be about 3-3.5 though so in theory infections will be going up more rapidly and therefore hospitalisations will rise if both the R estimates and the hospitalisation numbers are true. Increasing booster coverage should bring that R number down. ETA increased booster coverage should also alter the hospitalisation numbers per 1000 downward. Given we have more vaccine coverage than SA our hospitalisation numbers should be a lower starting point than theirs anyway. Limit in mixing obviously means table service only in hospitality. They will probably do both and still shut everything down in January. Depressing.
